Heated Rivalry stars Hudson Williams and François Arnaud condemn hateful fan comments

Hudson Williams and François Arnaud jointly condemned online hate in identical Instagram posts, calling out fans spreading discriminatory comments.

The Heated Rivalry stars took to their Instagram Stories, sharing similar posts on Monday, Mar. 9, to reprimand the scathing remarks, writing:

“Don’t call yourself a fan if you share racist/homophobic/biphobic/misogynist/ageist/ableist/parasocial/bigoted comments of any kind. None of us need your hateful ‘love.'”

Hudson Williams and François Arnaud both appeared in the hit hockey romance series by HBO Max as Shane Hollander and Scott Hunter, respectively. The show premiered in November 2025.

Following the series’ debut, the cast members have been victims of unpleasant comments online, with a plethora of posts pitting them against one another. With this, both Williams and Arnaud addressed the internet noise.

“We all respect and support and love each other and are on the same side. If you can’t accept that gtfoh.”

Hudson Williams also weighed in on the viewers’ reactions to Heated Rivalry in his conversation with Wonderland last January. The breakout star shared:

“I didn’t think there would be as many disrespectful people as there are. And vice versa, I didn’t think there would be as many respectful people as there are. I thought everyone would just be screaming, nice or kind of like, ‘Oh my God.'”

While there were fans who pleaded with others to respect Williams’ privacy, the actor still noticed the brash remarks against him.

“I’m seeing those comments, and that’s cool. But then there are disrespectful people who are just like, ‘F*** that guy.’ And I’m like, holy s***. Why are people hating on me? There’s also all this fake news about me. And I’m like, ‘How do I already have fake news?'”

Hudson Williams revealed rare insight into relationship with girlfriend

The buzz comes a month after Hudson Williams offered rare insight into his long-term relationship with his girlfriend.

In a sweet Valentine’s Day post, the actor shared a collage showing the mystery girl, which included a mirror selfie of himself and the girl, with his arm wrapped around her waist. Another photo featured him and the woman playfully lying on top of him as they both appeared to be laughing.

Surprisingly, even his Heated Rivalry love interest, Connor Storrie, was part of the montage, clad in a basic gray pullover and black bonnet.

Hudson Williams captioned his sweet tribute with the simple greeting:

“Happy Valentine’s Day.”

The actor didn’t elaborate further about his relationship, although he provided a text over the collage, which was enough insight into the foundation of their connection.

“With me since my 2000 gold Mazda Protégé smoked and squealed and I had no job.”
