Former General Hospital actor Adam J. Harrington, who played FBI agent John “Jagger Cates” in 2024, is in the new film The Climb. He shared the trailer for the film, which is set to hit the film festival circuit soon.
The Climb is the story of a young woman, Sloan, played by Shawnee Badger, moving through grief as she climbs a mountain with her dad. Harrington plays Caleb, Sloan’s father.

Badger wrote the script as well. Justin Hogan is the director. Other stars include Caitlin Duffy, Matt Edwards, and Aria Goodson.
Based on the trailer and IMDb cast list, the film will feature flashbacks of both characters when they were younger. The trailer shows father and daughter climbing, joking with each other, and sharing thoughts about atoms. There are also scenes in a hospital and a school.
Harrington captioned the post, “The Climb trailer is here! Grab your gear, and we’ll meet you at the summit!”
Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) commented, “so good.” Lydia Look (Selina Wu) commented with fire and heart emojis.
A fan, debbiedoo71, loved the clip, saying, “This trailer is so amazing and really pulls you into what we will expect of the tragedy, humor, and emotion of one family that takes you on this magnificent climb!”
Another fan, liztaylorworld, added, “Get ready to feel your heart flood with emotions.”
The official Instagram account of the film shared a different post, showing Harrington and Badger in a still photo from the film, saying, “This holiday season, spend your time with someone who looks at you the way that Sloan and her dad look at the California wilderness.”
Harrington took over the role of Agent Cates, which had been played by Antonio Sabato, Jr., from 1992 to 1995. Cates antagonized Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) for most of 2024 before Sonny shot and killed him on the Quartermaine grounds, a killing that has not been pinned on Sonny to this day.
Harrington has been busy with other roles since leaving General Hospital. He had a recent appearance on the NBC primetime series Chicago Fire.
He has also had a recurring role on the Apple TV series Palm Royale, which stars Kristin Wiig (Saturday Night Live) as Maxine Dellacorte-Simmons, a Palm Beach socialite in the 1960s. Harrington plays Agent Stevens and is listed on IMDb as appearing in four episodes of the current second season.
The series also stars pop star and former General Hospital star Ricky Martin (ex-Miguel Morez) in a lead role, as well as former GH legend John Stamos (ex-Blackie Parrish), who has been featured this season as, ironically, a doctor!
