The brave firefighters at Firehouse 51 kick-started the One Chicago crossover event with a deadly aerial emergency.

Chicago Fire Season 14 Episode 13 saw an emergency alert. The Air Control contacted all emergency services when a passenger plane stopped responding mid-air. Since the plane was unresponsive for about thirty minutes, there were concerns about a hijack. Chief Pascal, who was attending Cranston’s funeral, was the closest to the scene, which is why he took the call and sent Severide and his Fire squad.

Here is the complete Chicago Fire Season 14 Episode 13 recap.

Here’s what happened in Chicago Fire Season 14 Episode 13

Chicago Fire Season 14 Episode 13 started strong with a small Chicago PD crossover when Detective Hailey Upton showed up. While Air Control was concerned about the safety of the passengers and Pilots on the flight, the vehicle safely landed. However, nobody emerged from the flight and the authorities were concerned that it was a hostage situation. They weren’t willing to risk lives but Upton was desperate. She was after a dr*g smuggler named Omar Bengoa, who was likely on that flight and had turned to terrorism. With so many lives at risk, FBI Special Agent Upton made a difficult choice and decided to send in Severide’s fire squad.

Chicago Fire Season 14 Episode 13 took a turn when Upton decided to breach and went against her superior’s wishes. Severide’s team quickly rose to the occasion and Cruz was the first one inside. He was shocked to see that all one hundred and eighty-eight passengers on the flight were dead, including the Pilots. The deceased showed signs of poisoning as they were foaming at the mouth and had red rashes. While Severide was not sure, there was likely a pathogen on board and he ordered his team to put on masks for safety and also called in the hazmat team.

As Severide checked for survivors in Chicago Fire Season 14 Episode 13, he found one locked in the bathroom. It was a pregnant woman who also had rashes on her body but was still breathing, likely because she was tucked away in the bathroom. As Novak and Violet took care of the woman, Severide made his way to the cockpit, only to discover dead Pilots. After the airport authorities said all their flights were equipped with security cameras, Severide collected the evidence from the Pilot’s cabin to aid the detectives.

Elsewhere, Agent Conway announced in the media that they have a terrorist attack/chemical warfare situation, creating panic among people. The mass hysteria reached Chicago Med and Violet and Novak were not even allowed into the hospital when they arrived with the pregnant woman. Chicago Fire Season 14 Episode 13 then shifted to Upton, who investigated Bengoa’s apartment. All the signs pointed to the fact that he had plans on coming home that night, until he died on that fateful flight. Upton found a photo of Bengoa with Jay Halstead, her ex. It was clear that Upton took this case to help her ex, whose cover was likely blown in Bolivia.

Back at the hospital, Dr. Lenox, Severide and Upton reached the morgue to understand the cause of this mass casualty. The place was packed with pathologists from different counties, which is why the trio did not recognize when an unknown man snooped around Bengoa’s body in a doctor’s guise. When Lenox clocked him, he panicked and started a fire in Chicago Fire Season 14 Episode 13, creating even more chaos. The morgue doors were sealed but Upton managed to call 9-1-1 for help. Upton kept her eyes on the arsonist, who was still inside the morgue. Just when she found the suspect, Halstead arrived on the scene.

Meanwhile, Kidd saved Severide and Dr. Lenox from the morgue, setting the stage for Chicago PD and Chicago Med to continue the crossover event.
