In a court filing related to a psychosexual assessment, Timothy Busfield addressed his relationship with his wife, Melissa Gilbert, an actress herself, and their personal life together.
“They are a satisfying marriage” he wrote, “and they are still affectionate with one another, although with age, they are more cuddly than sexually active.”
He did, however, add that he had not masturbated in several months. His sexuality is listed as heterosexual, with memories of attraction to women from childhood. His distaste for pornography is mentioned, stating that he finds it “disgusting,” rather than sexually stimulating.
His wife’s understanding was emphasized, with her stating that “pornography is never a part of our relationship.” These disclosures were seen, in court filings, as evidence of a low risk of sexual offense, compared with convicted offenders.

The lawsuit became viral because of the unusually frank tone that most celebrities avoid when discussing their private lives during a lawsuit. The reason for public interest in these revelations has much to do with why they were necessary: his defence team believes that these revelations will help convince a court that he is not a threat to society and that he can be released from prison until his lawsuit is resolved.
Timothy Busfield is currently facing various serious charges, including the criminal sexual contact of a minor and child abuse, which relate to alleged events that took place while he was a director and executive producer for the series “The Cleaning Lady.” This is because two young actors have come forward claiming he inappropriately touched them while they were working for the series, which he has denied.
