Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What happened on The Young and the Restless

Soap opera viewers know that people can and do change. Look at Sally Spectra on The Young and the Restless. Since leaving Los Angeles, where she made a few faux pas, she’s turned her life around in Los Angeles, finding successful friendships, work, and love. We wonder, though, if the man she’s with right now, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), is capable of change. Billy put his heart on his sleeve and begged Sally for another chance last year. She agreed. The two teamed up to launch Abbott Communications, a company that could stand on its own. Sure, AC would be a rival to Newman Media, the company funded by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Billy’s nemesis, but the two media organizations are on an even playing field. Sally felt Billy needed to stay away from the toxic energy connected to Chancellor Industries, the company that Jill (Jess Walton), Billy’s mother, sold to Victor (Eric Braeden) so that Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) could run. Now, Billy has a chance to get Newman back with unethical help from Cane and the (likely illegal) AI software. The book on Sally’s face said it all. She can’t believe Billy’s going to go down this path. Again. We learned at Christmas that Sally’s father had big dreams, and he always let her down. She wondered if she’d chosen someone just like him in Billy. Sally probably has. Will she stay or leave her relationship with him? Right now, we’re leaning towards recommending that Sally go running for The Young and the Restless hill!
