Life and death choices in Salem

Welcome to Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

Chanel’s body, Chanel’s choice. And that is what pro-choice is all about. Johnny acknowledged it and we applaud it. Chanel is the character carrying and a child and Chanel gets to decide whether to have that child or not. She knows her life could be at risk, but she is choosing to have a baby and thankfully, Johnny is now respecting that. It was a refreshing and honest conversation between two young adults who were left with a dilemma. Javi was also left with a dilemma, but he chose to run. Yes, Javi should certainly be there for his father’s surgery, but that one-way ticket to Texas is also a one-way ticket to avoidance. We are not sure why Javi still refuses to even acknowledge Leo, a man who has proven over and over that Javi is the one he wants. Javi had a little bit of fight in him when Dimitri approached him earlier this week, but he didn’t even bother trying to say goodbye to Leo before he left. We understand why he wanted to see Trey, but it felt like he was going to leave Salem without seeing the person he had just taken vows with a few days before. We are sure that the upcoming christening will have some emotional moments, but Javi is really losing us here and might be in the doghouse in 2026 as much as Johnny was in 2024 and 2025.
