Johnny DiMera, CEO for a day?

Welcome to Days of our Lives Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

So, let us get this straight. Theo, the current official CEO of DiMera Enterprises, is due to wake up any minute, according to his doctors, but until then, a new CEO is required, and Johnny has accepted the job. Um, for how long? A few hours? A few days? A few weeks? With Theo predicted to make a full and quick recovery once he wakes soon, why does DiMera need a new CEO? EJ can’t fill in for a few days if Tony doesn’t want to? Why does it fall on Johnny and why is he acting like this is more than just filling in? He told Chanel the earning potential would be wonderful, considering they are having another baby. But how much would Johnny earn as substitute CEO and how long will this paycheck last? Wouldn’t he need some training before stepping into this high-pressure position? Theo could be awake before this training is even over. The bottom line is, all this CEO nonsense is wholly unserious and downright silly. And Johnny? This young man has gone from job to job to job over the last year and it’s frankly dizzying. From soap director to film director to Titan-DiMera PR to college professor to CEO. And this is all in 2025. As 2026 begins, maybe Johnny can actually find a job and a career that sticks.
