AS 2025 draws to a close, what better time to look back at some of the sexiest and riskiest dresses from the last 12 months?
While 2024 was the year of ‘nude’ dressing, this year, it appears we’ve seen more risky dresses than ever before.
Not only have we spotted numerous celebs forget their knickers on red carpets, but we’ve also seen countless stars say goodbye to bras and hello to purposeful nipple displays.
And it appears that for many famous faces, material covering one’s nether regions was so two years ago.
Whatever the season or occasion, many of our favourite icons have continued to step out in evermore risky ensembles, with flesh-flashing frocks constantly spotted everything from the Grammys to London Fashion Week.
Here, we take a look at the raciest looks for the past 12 months, so expect plenty of cleavage, toned booties and everything in between.

Just days ago, Lottie Moss looked stunning in a very daring, see-through dress.
The model, 27, who is the younger half-sister of Kate Moss, hit the red carpet in Munich in a sheer silver dress.
The frock featured diamanté embellishments, tassels and a floor-length cape.
She opted to go braless underneath the dress, with sheer underwear and black heeled shoes.
Bianca Censori
One of the most infamous risky dresses of all, which saw Bianca Censori and Kanye West ‘kicked out’ of the Grammys, was the 30-year-old’s completely see-through mesh dress.
The architect shocked onlookers and awards show viewers as she went nude at the prestigious event.
While the official dress code for the venue is “proper attire, including shoes and shirts,” Bianca turned her back on the photographers and dropped her fur coat.
She showed off her bare butt in the completely see-through piece of fabric as the paparazzi could be heard gasping and saying, “Wow, what a reveal!”
Julia Fox
Another of Kanye West‘s exes who isn’t afraid to bare all is Julia Fox, 35, who cut a striking figure at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party red carpet in a completely sheer gown.
For one of the biggest events of the year in Hollywood, the 35-year-old, who is no stranger to daring fashion, donned a transparent bodycon.
For the Vanity Fair event, the actress and model’s frock exposed her breasts and bum as she posed for cameras.
The Uncut Gems star paired the nude slip with yellow court shoes and had cleverly styled her long brunette locks into ringlets flowing across her chest and shoulders.
Olivia Wilde
For that same event, Babylon actress and producer Olivia Wilde also jumped on the bare-it-all trend.
The 41-year-old mum-of-two ditched her bra and showed off her enviable toned figure at The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills.
Striking a pose on the red carpet, Olivia left many open-mouthed as she stood in a risky sheer Bohemian-style ivory dress by Chloe.
Underneath the sheer gown, the star took a brave risk and wore just a pair of briefs.
Megan Thee Stallion
Another celeb who turned heads – both in person and for the millions tuning into the 2025 Vanity Fair event – was the American rapper Megan Thee Stallion, 30.
The Hot Girls Summer songwriter left very little to the imagination in her eye-popping green frock.
The dress exposed her breasts and stopped just below them, with Megan sporting matching nipple covers.
The 30-year-old beauty’s peek-a-boo gown featured a figure-hugging skirt that was adorned with gorgeous feathers – but the detailing did little to distract from her bare top.
Sydney Sweeney
Actress Sydney Sweeney is no stranger to a revealing dress or two, but her sensational silver number at Variety’s 2025 Power Of Women is one many won’t forget.
At the October event, The White Lotus actress, 28, went braless under her figure-hugging attire, which featured a floor-skimming hemline and elbow-length sleeves.
The blonde oozed sexy sophistication at The Beverly Hills Hotel in the sheer dress which clung to her curves.
Sydney kept the rest of her look minimal, to ensure her gown commanded all the attention – and there were no nipple covers or knickers in sight.

KNOWING how to channel the naked trend isn’t actually that tricky to master.
- You probably do it all the time without even thinking about it. For example with your winter tights. 10 – 20 Denier tights shade and sculpt the legs and make a statement even if you’re wearing a plain, old jumper dress.
- Sheer, light dresses that we reach for in summer can work for winter too. Just layer with camisoles and slip dresses underneath to add layers for warmth – and for your dignity.
- You don’t have to show everything off, look for styles with sheer inserts such as detailing on sleeves or the hems of skirts. M&S have a sheer black pencil skirt this season that you can wear with a chunky knit or a fitted evening top.
- If you don’t want to layer underneath your look then build on top. An oversized, masculine blazer over a see-through dress adds to your already sexy look.
- Sheer tops are everywhere this season but keep an eye out for style with ruching that gather together to cover your modesty whilst still giving the illusion of having nothing on.
Dakota Johnson
Back in September, Dakota Johnson turned heads as she stunned in a totally see-through lace dress when she stepped out for a charity event.
The actress, 36, was among the stars attending the Kering Foundation’s Caring for Women dinner in New York.
Dakota left nothing to the imagination while posing for photos at the event, showing off her black underwear through the material.
In one snap, the Fifty Shades of Grey star – who split from Coldplay’s Chris Martin earlier this year – cheekily flashed her bum at the cameras while gazing back over her shoulder.
Margot Robbie
Also in September, all eyes were on Margot Robbie as she stepped out in a very daring dress in London.
The Australian actress, 35, wowed in a shimmering see-through gown that revealed her underwear on the red carpet, alongside Colin Farrell, 49.
Margot’s outfit choice was certainly bold and beautiful and she confidently posed for pictures.
The star wore her hair neatly up in a bun, while the backless frock with matching thong showed off her toned figure and side boob.
Halle Berry
Earlier this year, movie star Halle Berry shocked fans by ditching her underwear in a daring see-through outfit at the Met Gala.
With a theme of Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, the 59-year-old looked sensational as she listened to the brief and picked a suitable ensemble.
For the iconic event hosted by Anna Wintour, Halle rocked a black gown on the red-turned-blue carpet, which had sheer panelling adorning it.

One dress that really turned heads was worn in October – when Brooks Nader suffered two embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions at the same time.

There were no knickers or bra in sight and the star accessoried with a tiny black handbag.

Unlike Kanye’s second wife Bianca, at the 67th Grammy Awards Chrissy Teigen didn’t go the full monty, but certainly took part in the ‘naked’ dress trend.
The 40-year-old left little to the imagination as she posed on the red carpet of LA’s Crypto.com Arena wearing a strapless Christian Siriano fishnet gown from his spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection.
The Cravings founder ditched her bra and didn’t appear to wear knickers, while the strapless neckline put her bare chest on display.
The mother accessorised the mermaid-style sheer creation with black hoop earrings, several studs, and a few rings selected by stylist Alana Van Deraa.

Maya Jama was a sheer delight as she donned a see-through dress during London Fashion Week back in September.
The Love Island presenter, 31, stunned in a sheer look as she attended an exclusive event at London‘s Carbone restaurant.
