Donald Trump and Jake Paul-hater Conor McGregor lead praise for YouTuber after loss to ‘very large’ Anthony Joshua

DONALD TRUMP and Conor McGregor were among the names praising YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul after his loss to Anthony Joshua.

The pair went six rounds with each other at Florida‘s Kaseya Centre on Friday.

Paul primarily used a tactic of keeping his distance from the British former heavyweight champion.

But Joshua eventually caught up to his smaller opponent, putting the fight to bed with a big right hand that broke Paul’s jaw in two places.

However, the result has not stopped some huge names from showing their appreciation for Paul’s bravery in getting into the ring in the first place.

Among them was Trump, who said on social media: “On the plane I just got to watch the Jake Paul fight, and he did really well.

“Especially as a display of GREAT courage against a very talented and large Anthony Joshua.

“Fantastic entertainment, but kudos to Jake for his stamina, and frankly, ability, against a much bigger man.”

Paul is five inches shorter than the giant Joshua and entered the fight almost 15kg lighter than his opponent.

That difference in power, and in experience, ended up showing as the 36-year-old dominated the contest.

Another voice among those praising Paul was that of former UFC champion McGregor.

The Irishman is far from Paul’s biggest fan, saying ahead of the fight: “Jake is stupid and will be altered permanently from this bout.

“Paul is lighter, shorter and green baby s**t in this business compared to AJ.”

But that did not stop him from holding his hands up and giving him his dues after the fight, saying on Instagram: “Fair play! Well done.”

British boxing star Chris Eubank Jr voiced a similar sentiment, saying: “Regardless of the outcome Jake Paul got into the ring with an Olympic gold medallist and former heavyweight world champion and tried his best until the very end.

“You have to give that man his respect now… he’s done what most would never and he didn’t give up. Well done Jake.”
