Pharrell Williams honored with Shoe of the Year Award

The 39th annual Footwear News Achievement Awards lit up Cipriani 25 Broadway in New York last night, turning Dec. 3 into a full-blown fashion moment. Dubbed the “Shoe Oscars” for a reason, the FNAAs brought out A-listers, industry giants, trendsetters, and innovators to celebrate the biggest movers shaping style, culture, and the future of footwear.

This year’s lineup did not disappoint. Pharrell Williams and Adidas snagged the ultra-coveted Shoe of the Year, while fashion icon and humanitarian Tommy Hilfiger took home the Lifetime Achievement Award. The 2025 honorees represented a fierce blend of legends, disruptors, and next-gen stars all redefining what it means to lead in fashion, sport, and retail.

“2025’s class is a bold mix of icons and breakout visionaries,” said Michael Atmore, Footwear News and WWD’s Editor-in-Chief. “In a year full of challenges, these honorees prove that true greatness thrives under pressure.”

Awards are ‘bigger, brighter’

Amanda Smith, CEO of Fairchild Media Group, added, “The FNAAs are the pinnacle of recognition in the industry. This year is bigger, brighter, and bolder than ever.”

The presenter list read like a who’s who of culture and fashion: Pusha T, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Michael Strahan, Jeff Daniels, June Ambrose, Kenneth Cole, Nigel Sylvester, Coco Gauff, Storm Reid, Gayle King, Olivia Palermo, Howie Mandel and more, all taking the stage to honor the game-changers of 2025.

And the guest list? Just as major. Spike Lee, Christie Brinkley, Sailor Brinkley Cook, Nicky Hilton, Futura, Helen Lasichanh Williams, Johannes Huebl, and other fashion favorites stepped out in style.

Another year, another iconic night for the books and the sneaker and style world is already buzzing for what’s next.
