DOCTORS across the UK are set to walk out next week despite the NHS warning that soaring super flu cases have sent hospital numbers to their highest level.
Last week, an average of 2,660 patients were in hospital with the bug each day – the highest ever for this time of year and up 55 per cent up on last week.

This comes as Wes Streeting has asked resident doctors to stop “playing games with patients’ lives” and cancel next week’s planned strike with a last-ditch deal.
The Health Secretary has put the offer to the British Medical Association (BMA) which they will present to their members ahead of the proposed five-day walkout.
As six hospitals have declared critical incidents, should the striking doctors be forced to call off the walkout?
