IT can be expensive buying Christmas decorations to put on your tree.

Anastasia took to TikTok to post a video demonstrating the hack, using some metallic bronze balloons to do so.

She blew each balloon to the size she wanted, and then carefully put them in between the branches of her tree.

She spread the balloons out, dotting them where she wanted.

“Balloons as ornaments for your Christmas tree,” Anastasia captioned her video.

And the hack is also brilliant if you want to “switch out themes or colours”, as all you need to do is pop the old balloons and put new ones in.

As you can get metallic balloons for as little as 6p each on sites such as Shein, it’s an inexpensive way to decorate the tree too.

People were quick to comment on the video, praising Anastasia for sharing the clever idea.

“Why did I never think of this?” one wrote.

“Shut your mouth!!!!!! This is genius,” another added.

“WAIT you just saved me so much money!” a third gushed.

While others shared pictures of their own trees, complete with balloons in place of decorations.

“I do this yearly,” one wrote.

“They don’t pop. They just deflate a little, so don’t do it too early.

“Or what I do is I just replace the ones that do.

“They’re easier to put away too! Just pop and toss them. Not too bulky for storage.”

“Been doing this for the past 3 years,” another said.

Tips to make your home smell like Christmas

IF you want your home to smell festive this season, you’ve come to the right place…

  1. Simmer Potpourri: Simmer a pot of water with cinnamon sticks, cloves, orange peels, and cranberries for a warm, festive aroma.
  2. Essential Oils: Use a diffuser with essential oils such as pine, peppermint, and frankincense to evoke the spirit of Christmas.
  3. Bake Seasonal Treats: The smell of fresh-baked gingerbread, mince pies, or spiced biscuits can fill your home with holiday cheer.
  4. Scented Candles: Light candles with fragrances like mulled wine, fir tree, or spiced apple to create a cosy atmosphere.
  5. Decorate with Fresh Greenery: Incorporate fresh pine, holly, and eucalyptus into your decorations for a natural, Christmassy scent.
  6. Make Your Own Pomanders: Stud oranges with cloves and hang them around the house for a traditional and aromatic touch.
  7. Use Simmering Spices: Boil a mixture of cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice in water on the stove to infuse your home with a holiday fragrance.
  8. Try Reed Diffusers: Place reed diffusers with Christmas-themed scents around your home for a continuous, subtle aroma.

“Did this before it looked amazing and they did not pop or deflate,” a third wrote.

However, others suggested the hack might be most effective for faux trees, rather than real ones with spiky needles that may end up popping the balloons.
