Actress Tia Mowry celebrated her 48th birthday on July 6, which she shares with her twin sister Tamera Mowry. X user @bria_sole shared a screenshot showing the media enterprise BET allegedly wishing the former, but snubbing the latter.
“Happy birthday to the amazing @TiaMowry!” the alleged BET post read.
Underneath it appeared Tamera Mowry’s alleged reply:
“wow ok.”
However, the screenshot is fake. BET didn’t wish either of the Mowry sisters on its X account. Additionally, Tamera goes by Tamera Mowry-Housley, aka @TameraMowryTwo and now Tamara Mowry/ @TamaraMowry, as seen on the viral @bria_sole comment, which was posted underneath Pop Base’s tribute for Tia.
“Happy 48th birthday to the talented Tia Mowry,” Pop Base’s post read, with the actress’ current picture and one from her teenage days.
In the wake of Pop Base’s snub of Tamera Mowry, fans are arguing whether it was justified.
One user commented, “Why did you only wish Tia and not her twin a happy birthday? It would be really unfortunate if Tamera was being left out because of her politics, because that’s the only reason I can think you’re not including her.”
The same user continued:
“I’m actually really disappointed in this post because I’m a conservative lady and I try and be incognito about it now because of things like this. Everybody knows Tia Mowry is a twin, so why would you only include Tia in the birthday wishes and not Tamera? Whatever your view on their politics, everybody knows they have the most success when they work together (excluding ‘The Real’). So why separate them like this?”
Many joined in the conversation and shared similar reactions.
“And Tamera?? So weird celebrating only one when they are twins,” a fan opined.
“Why was the other twin excluded?” another person asked.
“She literally has a twin too? No happy birthday to Tamera?” one individual asked.
Others continued to weigh in.
“The Tamera shade,” a fan wrote.
“This is really disrespectful. Tamera is her twin,” another commentator added.
“This post is so weird… what about her twin?? Post both of them or don’t post at all…tf,” a user shared.
What is Tamera Mowry’s politics?
Former actress, singer, and TV personality Tamera Mowry has been married to journalist, winemaker, and ex-baseball player Adam Housley since May 2011. However, he was best known as a correspondent on the conservative news channel Fox News from 2001 to 2018.
The couple shares two children: son Aden, 13, and daughter Ariah, 11. They live in Napa Valley, California, where Adam’s family owns a vineyard.
Over the years, Tamera Mowry has been called out over her alleged MAGA affiliations due to her husband’s link to Fox News. Later, in September 2018, she claimed her husband is “not a racist” on her talk show, The Real.
Around the same time, Adam Housley backed his wife and tweeted:
“This is just for clarification so if you see any stupid people spewing lies…per usual…have them refer to this tweet. @TameraMowryTwo and I did not support Trump or Hillary and nowhere has there ever been anything said to prove such.”
In a follow-up post, Housley continued:
“No, I am not racist, or insensitive, or any other crap you spew. Yes, I love people from all walks of life. I love to cook, be with my kids, coach soccer, tell stories, music of all types, people of all types.”
Tamera Mowry’s husband also clarified his past role at Fox News and how he dealt with natural disasters and mass shootings as a reporter, rather than politics.
“At Fox, I worked in something called THE NEWS DIVISION. I covered fires…about 50…hurricanes…11…tsunamis 2…War Zones 3…Earthquakes 5…terror attacks & shootings…1 is too many.”
Adam Housley concluded by claiming he quit his job as he was “unhappy with the tone of the conversation on the channel.”
Elsewhere, he slammed those who called him and his wife racists and tagged it as misrepresentation. He also mentioned that it was needed to “fight back” every once in a while and push people to “find the truth” or who they were as people.
“It’s just easy to attack…misrepresent…call names…do what you can from afar to try and tear down love. I know this…and I’ll leave it here. My wife is an amazing woman. We have thousands of friends from all walks of life who know us and know our hearts. Haters be damned,” Adam tweeted.
Despite repeated denials and clarifications, Tamera Mowry couldn’t completely shake off the MAGA affiliations. In fact, earlier this year in April, she made her Threads debut by writing “I’m new here.” However, users slammed her over alleged politics and the Sister, Sister star was forced to take down her account.
