Michael Rubin’s fifth annual White Party turned a Hamptons estate into hip-hop’s summer headquarters, with music, sports and fireworks capping the night.
Michael Rubin’s White Party has become one of the most reliable magnets for star power on the East Coast, and this year’s fifth edition, held Wednesday at the Fanatics CEO’s Southampton estate, lived up to the hype. The guest list read like an award-show seating chart, pulling together heavy hitters from music, film and professional sports for a single, sprawling night.
A Star-Studded Guest List
Jay-Z and Cardi B were among the marquee names spotted at the bash, joined by Travis Scott, Tate McRae, Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor, Shaboozey, Ciara, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Ice Spice, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, DJ Khaled, Lil Baby, Meek Mill, The Chainsmokers, French Montana and Fat Joe. The mix of genres and generations has long been part of the party’s appeal, drawing everyone from chart-topping newcomers to hip-hop veterans under one roof.
Music, Fireworks and a Hamptons Celebration
The entertainment matched the guest list’s ambition. Lil Wayne took the stage just a day after skipping a scheduled concert in Maine, an absence he later addressed publicly. Snoop Dogg and Cardi B also performed, keeping the energy high well into the evening. The night built toward a dramatic finish: fireworks lit up the sky over the Atlantic as Alicia Keys closed out the celebration with a rendition of Empire State of Mind, giving the Hamptons crowd a fittingly grand send-off.
Athletes Round Out the Roster
Music wasn’t the only draw. A significant contingent of professional athletes made the trip east, including Tom Brady, Mike Tyson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Davante Adams, Klay Thompson, Alex Rodriguez and Puka Nacua. Their presence has become something of a tradition at Rubin’s event, which routinely blurs the line between locker room and red carpet.
Dodging a Wedding Weekend
The White Party is usually timed around the Fourth of July, but this year’s date drew extra attention because of its proximity to another major event: Taylor Swift’s wedding, reportedly set for July 3 at Madison Square Garden. Rubin addressed the overlap directly, telling People that while he and his team were aware of the wedding date, it wasn’t the reason behind their scheduling decision. He noted that the timing wasn’t shifted because of it, but that organizers were mindful of not forcing guests to choose between the two events, adding that attendees tend to show up for the White Party regardless of when it falls on the calendar.
Whether or not the scheduling was coincidental, the outcome suggests Rubin’s instinct was right — the guest list showed no signs of a scheduling conflict costing him star power.
Jay-Z’s Next Act
For Jay-Z, the Hamptons appearance is a quick detour before a much bigger spotlight. He’s set to headline three shows at Yankee Stadium from July 10 through July 12, a run marking the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint. The milestone shows are expected to draw significant attention in their own right, giving the rapper back-to-back moments in the cultural spotlight this July.
Rubin’s party has carved out a durable niche on the summer social calendar, less a single event than a recurring showcase of who’s currently dominating music, sports and pop culture simultaneously. With fireworks over the Atlantic and a guest list spanning industries, this year’s edition once again reinforced why the White Party remains a fixture of Hamptons summers — competing wedding dates notwithstanding.
