Dutton Ranch Season 1 has come to an end. In the final scene of Episode 9, titled El Padrino, Beth Dutton receives a call from an unknown number. The caller turns out to be Mariano, who tells her that he has Carter. Beth runs to find Rip to share the news, only for her to learn from him that they don’t want Carter, but the two of them.
The season finale ends with Beth making it clear that she is all ready to take the fight with Mariano and isn’t backing down.
Created by Chad Feehan, the Yellowstone spin-off stars Kelly Reilly as Beth Dutton, Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler, and Finn Little as Carter. After a dramatic cliffhanger, many fans have been wondering if they’ll be getting another season of the neo-western drama. The good news is, yes, the series has already been renewed by the production.
Ahead is a look at everything we know so far about Season 2.
Dutton Ranch Season 2 updates: Viewers might get a Marshals crossover

The recent Yellowstone spin-off, Marshals, ended with the kidnapping of Kayce’s son, Tate. And to viewers’ surprise, Dutton Ranch ended on a similar cliffhanger with Carter getting kidnapped. However, this might not be a coincidence. Since both are spinoffs of Yellowstone, we might see a Marshals crossover in Dutton Ranch.
Speaking to TV Insider, Cole Hauser showed his interest in working with Marshals‘ Luke Grimes. He added that he would love to see characters from Yellowstone make guest appearances in the series, whether by visiting Beth and Rip or having the couple return to Montana.
It’s also worth noting that the series is set in Rio Paloma, Texas, where Tate might be after his kidnapping.
Dutton Ranch Season 2 updates: Everett McKinney to have more screen time with Beth and Rip

Ed Harris’s character, Everett McKinney, has become one of the most loved characters of the Yellowstone spin-off. While he first appears as a simple vet, he later becomes a very close ally to both the main characters, Rip and Beth.
For viewers hoping to see more of McKinney, there is good news, as Season 2 will feature him in a bigger role. Speaking of his role, Reilly told TV Insider that Season 2 will focus more on Everett McKinney instead of just focusing on Rip and Beth. She mentioned that this series includes four lead characters, including Ed Harris and Annette Bening, who plays Beulah Jackson.
Additionally, Cole Hauser praised Ed Harris and said he will have a much bigger and “very important” role in Season 2, adding that he is looking forward to working with him.
Dutton Ranch Season 2 updates: Beth and Rip will face a hard reset
The season will open with Carter’s kidnapping as Rip and Beth go all the way to find him as they prepare to fight. Hauser, while talking to TV Insider, revealed that the first episodes will mostly show Rip and Beth as they try to regain control. While Finn Little’s character, Carter, doesn’t die in the season finale, he ends up in a very dangerous situation, leaving his future uncertain.
It will be interesting to see how Beth and Rip deal with the situation and how Everett’s role shapes the story. However, the production hasn’t announced any confirmed release date for the next season as of now. It is expected to be released in 2027.
Dutton Ranch is streaming on Paramount+.
