The last two years on General Hospital have seen former Navy SEAL-turned-politician Drew Cain fall from the good graces of many of his loved ones. Once a proactive and caring character, Drew, played by Cameron Mathison, became increasingly self-serving after returning from prison. In July 2024, he launched a congressional campaign while pursuing Willow Tait, the wife of his nephew, Michael Corinthos.
Drew continued manipulating Willow, attempting to cut off communication between her and Michael. As a result, Willow lost custody of her children. Matters only worsened when Willow discovered Drew’s secret affair with her mother, Nina Reeves, and attempted to shoot him in the back out of revenge. However, an unsuspecting Drew later helped get her exonerated. Afterward, Willow married Drew but eventually injected him with paralytic drugs, leaving him trapped in a locked-in state. Drew has remained in that condition since January 2026.
5 people who would harbor resentment towards Drew
1) Willow Tait

Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) felt betrayed after learning about Drew Cain’s affair with her mother, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), a secret they had both kept from her. Adding to her anger, Willow blamed Drew for the chain of events that led to her separation from her children after Michael (Rory Gibson) gained temporary custody.
Despite already taking revenge by injecting Drew with paralytic drugs, Willow has not moved past her bitterness. While she benefited from becoming the interim congresswoman in Drew’s absence, she recently struck a deal with WSB agent Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna), who offered to help her obtain evidence against him. With new resources at her disposal, Willow may be determined to destroy Drew’s political career and reputation once and for all.
2) Curtis Ashford

Drew Cain was once a close friend of Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), but their relationship deteriorated as Drew’s political ambitions grew. As his congressional career gained momentum, Drew became increasingly hostile toward his former friend, leaving Curtis on the receiving end of insults, pressure, and aggression.
Their conflict intensified when Drew blackmailed Dr. Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), who was Curtis’s wife at the time, in an effort to indirectly manipulate Curtis. The secrets surrounding Portia’s blackmail ultimately contributed to the collapse of their marriage. Although Curtis and Portia have since divorced and moved on with other partners, the head of Aurora Media is unlikely to forgive Drew anytime soon.
3) Danny Morgan

Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) is the son of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), who is Drew Cain’s twin brother. However, General Hospital has shown that there is no love lost between the siblings. Adding another layer to the family dynamic, Danny and Drew’s daughter, Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante), share the same mother, the late Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco). As a result, the half-siblings were extremely close while Sam was alive.
After Sam’s death, however, Jason and Drew assumed full responsibility for their respective children. Fueled by his growing animosity toward Jason and the Quartermaine family, Drew sought restraining orders against Danny, creating additional distance between the siblings. In recent months, Willow allowed Danny and Scout to reconnect during Drew’s paralysis. Even so, Danny is likely to continue harboring resentment toward Drew for the role he played in disrupting their family. Scout may share some of those feelings, but her love for her father could leave her far more conflicted about the situation.
4) Nina Reeves

Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) carried on a secret affair with Drew Cain for years, even as he pursued a relationship with her daughter, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen). Once Nina realized the depth of Willow’s feelings and became aware of Drew’s increasingly manipulative behavior, she grew disgusted with him. She threatened to expose the affair and repeatedly tried to steer Willow away from the relationship. When those efforts failed, Nina ultimately revealed the truth herself.
The fallout from the revelation strained Nina’s relationship with Willow, who initially continued to stand by Drew. After apologizing and supporting Willow’s marriage to him, Nina eventually repaired her bond with her daughter. However, she was later horrified to learn that Willow had been injecting Drew with paralytic drugs while working alongside Sidwell. Although Nina may feel guilty about her role in the chaos surrounding Willow’s life, she is unlikely to ever forgive Drew. In her eyes, Willow’s downward spiral began the moment Drew entered her life.
5) Tracy Quartermaine

Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) has made no secret of her disdain for Drew Cain. Her issues with him intensified when he began leaning heavily on the Quartermaine name to advance his political career while engaging in increasingly questionable behavior around Port Charles. After Drew’s affair with Willow was exposed, Tracy was more than happy to show him the door.
Even after that, Drew continued to create problems for the family. He called the police on Tracy, disrupted Monica’s memorial, took family heirlooms, and abandoned Ned during a medical emergency. Those actions only reinforced Tracy’s negative opinion of him. As a result, she showed little sympathy when she learned of Drew’s paralysis. If Drew eventually recovers, he is unlikely to find much compassion waiting for him from his aunt.
