A brutal recoupling and compatibility vote sent five Islanders packing before the finale
What looked like a routine recoupling turned into one of the biggest bloodbaths of Love Island USA Season 8. Five Islanders were sent packing Friday night after a recoupling left one contestant single and a savage compatibility vote claimed two full couples. With a little over a week until the finale, the villa suddenly feels a lot emptier.
The five Islanders dumped from the villa
Jen Terry, Gal Tshnieder, Amora Cachee Robinson, Jaiden Bacciocco and Caleb McDaniel all left the villa Friday night. Jen became the first casualty after being left single at the recoupling, when her Casa Amor partner Gal chose to couple up with Amora instead. Under villa rules, Islanders not chosen during a recoupling are typically sent home.
Gal and Amora’s new pairing barely survived the night. Host Ariana Madix announced that the remaining couples would gather at the fire pit and place broken heart tokens on the two pairs they believed were least compatible. When the tally was revealed, Gal and Amora had received six votes, the most of any couple, and were immediately dumped.
How the final vote came down to the wire
The second elimination was far more dramatic. After Gal and Amora’s automatic exit, Kenzie and Dylan were tied with Jaiden and Caleb at three votes apiece, while Melanie and Sincere sat at two. That left the deciding token in the hands of Kayda and Zach. A vote for Kenzie and Dylan would send them home, a vote for Melanie and Sincere would force a three way tie, and a vote for Jaiden and Caleb would end their journey. Kayda and Zach placed their token on Jaiden and Caleb, sealing the couple’s fate.
Who is left and what America is voting on
Seven couples remain as Season 8 heads toward the finale. Melanie and Sincere, Kenzie and Dylan, Aniya and Carl, Kayda and Zach, Tierra and KC, Parmida and Corbin, and Trinity and Bryce all survived the night.
America’s fourth vote of the season opened at the end of the episode, asking fans to choose the most compatible couple through the official Love Island USA app. Voting opened at 10:30 PM ET and remains open for two and a half hours, with results revealed during Sunday’s episode, where the outcome could shape which couples move closer to the finale.
