Taylor Swift is set to become the latest in a long line of singers who chose to walk down the aisle with a professional athlete. Preparations for what is believed to be her wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce have been spotted in New York, with vans unloading flowers, food and what appears to be the makings of a large white fairytale castle.
As per a report shared by The Guardian, Donna Kelce, the mother of the groom, was seen walking through JFK airport with a wide grin on her face Thursday evening, which appeared to confirm the venue. It had been rumoured previously that the singer would tie the knot on her Rhode Island estate, or in the grounds of a castle on the shores of Lake Como.
Taylor Swift is far from the first. Victoria Beckham and David Beckham married in 1999 and have since built one of entertainment and sport’s most recognisable families, welcoming four children together while Victoria traded her Spice Girls days for a celebrated career in fashion.
Carrie Underwood, meanwhile, met hockey player Mike Fisher in 2008 after being introduced by her bassist, married two years later and has since gone on to cement herself as one of country music’s most decorated stars, earning multiple Grammy Awards while Fisher played eighteen seasons in the NHL before retiring in 2018.
Here is a list of singers who married athletes before Taylor Swift:
How Hailee Steinfeld found her person in Josh Allen:

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and singer-actress Hailee Steinfeld were first linked in the spring of 2023, as per a report shared by Billboard. By late 2024, the pair were engaged, and they married the following year in a late-May ceremony in Southern California. A few months after the wedding, Steinfeld opened up to Bustle about finding her person.
“That inner peace that you have, that rock, that solid, consistent part of your life is indescribable. I literally thank God every day that I found my person, and it’s the greatest thing in the world. Life makes sense. Everything makes sense,” she explained.
Jessie James Decker opens up on building a lasting marriage with Eric Decker:

Country singer Jessie James Decker and former NFL wide receiver Eric Decker first started dating in 2011, married two years later, and have since welcomed four children together. Speaking to Fox News in 2025, Jessie opened up on what has kept the pair going for over a decade.
“You know, we had a strong foundation to begin with, and we’re aligned on all of our views of just life in general. I think that you need to have that in your marriage. You need that foundation of being on the same page, you know? The way you raise your children, the way you want to handle money, everything.”
Ciara and Russell Wilson’s relationship and family life explored:

Ciara and Russell Wilson tied the knot in 2016, and the pair have since welcomed three children together, namely Sienna, Win and Amora. The Level Up singer is also mom to son Future Zahir, whom she shares with rapper Future. Both brought serious credentials into the marriage.
Wilson had already led the Seattle Seahawks to their first Super Bowl title in 2014, while Ciara was a Grammy-winning artist with chart-toppers like Goodies and 1, 2 Step long before the couple exchanged vows. As their family grew, the singer kept releasing music and expanding her business portfolio.
Taylor Swift on her wedding vision:

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got engaged in August 2025, roughly two years after they first started dating. The pair had spent much of that time front row to each other’s biggest moments. Taylor Swift was in the stands when the Kansas City Chiefs tight end claimed a Super Bowl title in 2024, while Kelce was watching as she wrapped the record-breaking Eras Tour that same year.
Their wedding at Madison Square Garden is set to run from Friday into the early hours of Saturday morning, closing several blocks in the heart of Manhattan over the busy holiday weekend. As per a copy of a city permit obtained by The Associated Press, the application was filed as a “Special Event at MSG” and approved Wednesday night by New York City’s permitting office.

Taylor Swift had made her vision for the day clear well before the permits were filed. She told The Graham Norton Show on the BBC,
“I know it’s gonna be fun to plan because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount and people are on the bubble. I’m not gonna do that — it’s gonna be fun.”
