The rapper flashed the classic kicks on the water ahead of the confirmed summer comeback
Some sneaker campaigns launch with press releases. 50 Cent launched his from a yacht. The rapper was spotted relaxing on the water in a pair of G-Unit Reeboks, appearing to rock the classic white and blue colorway just as the long dormant line prepares its summer 2026 return. More than two decades after the shoes first flew off shelves, the timing of the photos looks anything but accidental.
The G-Unit Reebok comeback is official
The photos line up with news that the G-Unit Reebok line is coming back this summer, with a July release confirmed through sneaker industry outlets. Tony Yayo broke the news earlier this year on The Real Report podcast, confirming that G-Unit and Reebok are reuniting after more than 20 years apart.
The G-Unit G6 is expected to headline the comeback. That model first dropped in 2003 alongside 50 Cent’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’ album, and the original partnership reportedly generated over $80 million for the rapper during its peak years. Shaquille O’Neal, who serves as President of Reebok Basketball, publicly urged 50 to reconnect with the brand back in 2024, and the call eventually came through.
Why the timing is perfect
The original G6 launched during one of hip hop’s most commercially dominant periods. 50 Cent’s meteoric rise gave the shoe instant visibility across music videos, magazine covers and retail floors. Initial colorways sold out quickly, and the line expanded to multiple models over the following years.
The comeback lands at a moment when early 2000s fashion is cycling back into the mainstream. Baggy jeans, oversized silhouettes and era specific footwear have all seen renewed interest, and the G6 fits naturally into that shift without needing much updating. Its clean white leather build and bold G-Unit branding already match what is trending in streetwear.
50 Cent’s public profile has also surged heading into the summer. His Netflix documentary about Diddy drew significant attention earlier this year, and pairing that visibility with a sneaker revival gives both the rapper and Reebok a strong cultural moment to build around. The G-Unit Reebok return now sits as one of the most anticipated sneaker stories of the summer.
