Ken Carson has gained the spotlight after the release of his fifth studio album titled xperiment on July 3 via Opium/Interscope records.
The new album spans 22 tracks and features collaborations with artists like Playboi Carti, Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, Destroy Lonely and 2hollis. Fans had been anticipating the 26-year-old rapper’s new project for the past months after he debuted several tracks during his headlining sets at Rolling Loud Orlando and Summer Smash.
Born Kenyatta Lee Frazier Jr., Carson is an Atlanta-based rapper who rose to fame with the SoundCloud scene. His career took a major leap after being signed to Playboi Carti’s Opium label in 2019.

Before the release of his album xperiment, Ken Carson treated his fans with two unreleased tracks, Out of My Body and Where Do I Start, during his headlining set at the 2026 Roskilde Festival in Denmark on July 2.
Carson did the same during the headlining set at Rolling Out Loud in Orlando in May 2026 by introducing several tracks to the audience. Additionally, he joined Playboy Carti on stage at the Summer Smash festival in Chicago in June. They together performed Cover My Ears from Carson’s newly released album.
Internet’s reaction to Ken Carson’s xperiment has been mostly positive. A few called it “decent” or “alright”, but not a huge leap in comparison to his previous album, More Chaos. Here is how they reacted:

Ken Carson started writing and performing rap music in his mid-teens, when he was around age 13 or 15. Not many might be aware that he was expelled from military school, after which he joined the 808 Mafia production collective in 2015. He initially started his career under the moniker Ken Car$on, with a reference to the “Barbie” character and later dropped the dollar sign.
Two years later, Ken Carson started making waves on SoundCloud by uploading solo tracks. He then started visiting recording studios with his mentor TM88.
During one of the sessions, he met Playboy Carti, a meeting that proved pivotal. After Carti signed Carson, the more chaos hitmaker released EPs such as Boy Barbie (2020) and Teen X (2020). In an interview with Complex, Carson described his sound as feel-good music.
In 2021, he dropped his debut album, Project X. His third album, A Great Chaos, became a major breakthrough with its release in 2023. It debuted at #11 on the Billboard 200, spent over a year on the chart, and went gold (later platinum).
