The dog attack lawsuit against Chris Brown has ended with a massive payout

Chris Brown is in the middle of a new legal case involving his housekeeper, Maria Avila. As per the court records, the Under The Influence singer is ordered to pay $12.9 million to his housekeeper, Avila. The ruling comes from a dog attack lawsuit filed by Avila after she was attacked by the Caucasian Shepherd in Brown’s house.

The incident took place six years ago, in 2020, in Brown’s house located in Tarzana, where Avila was working. Brown’s dog Hades, a 200 lb Caucasian Shepherd, attacked her, leading to severe injuries on her face and arm. Brown reported that Hades isn’t his pet dog but was kept as a guard dog in the house, stating that he gets a lot of “stalker-type situations.”

After the incident, Avila went through skin grafting and stitches to fix the injuries and the marks left by the dog. Additionally, she also revealed developing nerve damage and PTSD after the incident. A year later, Avila filed a lawsuit against him.

During her trial that was held in Van Nuys, California, she stated that these health problems made it hard for her to continue doing her job.

As per the recent reports, the judge has ruled in favor of Maria Avila.

Chris Brown will reportedly pay $12.9 million for the damages caused by his dog Hades. The attack took place where he was in the house, and he found her in a pool of blood, which reportedly left him in shock. According to the housekeeper, the dog removed “large chunks of her skin.”

An ambulance was called to his location for Avila, who was left injured. However, the singer left before its arrival. He told the court that he was advised by his manager to stay away and avoid the:

“Media circus. Because of my status as an artist.”

According to Avila, the injuries also damaged her eyesight, left scars, and damaged her nerves.

After the case was presented, Chris Brown revealed he had warned the housekeeping staff and her sister about the dog. He told the court that after the dog attacked Maria Avila, Brown put him in the kennel. However, Avila and her sister Patricia told the court that Brown never had the conversation about the same with them.

Additionally, Brown also claimed Avila was partly responsible for the same, as he warned her about the dog that is not at all friendly and told her to not go out alone and disagreed with how serious her injuries were. However, the judge ruled in Avila’s favor.

In a statement reported by Rolling Stone, Michael C. Murphy Jr., who represented Patricia in court, said that they are happy to get justice after five years. The lawyer added that they are relieved for her and her family after what they went through. Avila’s husband, Oscar Olivo, received $50,000, while her sister, Patricia, was awarded $885k.

As of now, Chris Brown or his spokesperson has not released any statement on the same. Additionally, Maria Avila and her husband, Oscar Olivo, have not released any statement yet.

Chris Brown was last seen in court in January with Omololu Akinlolu.
