The Bold and the Beautiful Two Scoops for the Week of June 22nd

The Bold and the Beautiful delivered one of the biggest shakeups in recent memory as Logan officially unveiled the Hope Logan collection and sent Forrester into a tailspin. While everyone is busy debating whether Hope betrayed her family, two other issues deserve a closer look. Brooke continues to act as though Katie owed her an inside track on company secrets, and Will is once again paying the price for protecting information he was never supposed to share in the first place. Let’s break it all down in this week’s Two Scoops.

Katie Didn’t Owe Brooke Anything

It’s clear that Brooke is going to view the fashion show as a complete betrayal from Katie. While it’s true that an argument can be made for that, Brooke needs to stop and ask herself if her little sister should’ve ever been expected to be forthcoming with her. These are major fashion houses that are direct competitors with each other. Why would a fledgling brand like Katie risk getting off the ground by revealing sensitive information to someone who doesn’t have her best interests in mind?

Brooke has talked down to Katie at every turn. There is no conceivable reason why Katie would ever feel comfortable confiding in Brooke about anything. There is clearly residual animosity regarding Brooke and Bill’s past romantic indiscretions, which makes every face-off between the embattled siblings that much more contentious. Brooke (and Steffy, for that matter) marching into Katie’s office unannounced and making demands and pleading to know who her designer was, was bizarre behavior, and it wouldn’t fly in any other major company or organization. Brooke has displayed a complete lack of situational awareness, and she has been gassed up by Ridge so much over the years that she believes she’s untouchable.

Will Can’t Win

Electra is another character who is in need of a complete reality check. After finally reconciling with Will after breaking his heart over helping a homeless woman, Friday’s all-new episode had her completely back in victim mode. Earlier in the week, she pleaded with Will to come clean with her about the name of the new designer, but he held true to his word to his parents and kept quiet. However, doing so may have already ruined his relationship because it appears as if he was being malicious by keeping another secret from her. He was only doing what he should have done and protecting company secrets, but everyone at Forrester consistently feels like they are entitled to knowing everything about everything.

Aside from the Hope reveal, it was the Hope for the Future diamond that has the potential to destroy everything Will and Electra have rebuilt. She explained to Dylan how important that diamond was to her, so to see Will’s company put it on display in the blindside of the century was shocking. Nobody saw that coming, and if her past behavior is any indication of how she will react to this, she’s going to tear into Will and hold this against him. Electra is going to view this as the biggest betrayal of their relationship, and it’s yet another hurdle for Will to jump through to prove his loyalty.

Whose side are you on? Did Katie owe Brooke more honesty about Logan’s plans, and is Electra justified in being upset with Will, or is he being blamed for something completely out of his control? Sound off in the comments below.
