Tom Hardy set to release rap album amid MobLand casting shakeup

Following the MobLand casting shakeup, Tom Hardy is back in the headlines, this time for his upcoming rap album, Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer.

Hardy, famous for Inception, The Dark Knight Rises, Peaky Blinders, and Venom, played the character of Harry da Souza in the series MobLand. Last month, Puck News reported that Hardy was no longer part of Season 3 after being removed. However, Variety’s source confirmed that he was not removed, as the possibility of his returning for Season 3 is still open. They added that the team is trying to figure out the creative direction of the show.

While his future in MobLand is still being worked out, Hardy is now gaining attention for his upcoming rap album.

For his upcoming rap album, Tom Hardy is collaborating with the supergroup Czarface, which is made up of three artists: Esoteric, Inspectah Deck from Wu-Tang Clan, and 7L. Hardy will be releasing the album under his stage name Frankie Pulitzer, also known as Face Puller.

The album is scheduled to be released on August 28, leaving fans with almost two months of waiting. The album will consist of a total of fifteen songs, of which the first song, Brothers Grimm, has already been released on streaming platforms.

His new career move might not be too shocking for his fans, as he has been associated with music through earlier projects as well. In 2018, the BBC reported that a 1990s rap mixtape by Tom Hardy reappeared on the internet. In an old interview, as reported by Boss Hunting, Tom Hardy said that he began rapping in his teenage years and worked with people linked to Pras, The Fugees, Leela James, and Lauryn Hill.

Why did Tom Hardy’s MobLand future come into question?

Rumors about Tom Hardy’s future on MobLand and his being removed from Season 3 started after Puck News published a report last month, claiming he had problems behind the scenes. The outlet pointed out that he wanted changes in the script and was having disagreements with the producers. The report also claimed that he was arriving late for the shoots.

However, Variety reported that he was not fired. As of now, Hardy has not released any statement about the same.

Helen Mirren, the actress behind the MobLand character Maeve Harrigan, reportedly praised Hardy, saying he is a talented actor. She added that everyone has a different way of working and that she has no problem with that as long as the project turns out well.

Hardy has three more projects lined up, listed on IMDb, which include Chronicles: Medieval, War Party, and Mad Max: The Wasteland.
