Diane thought back to the night she found Jack and Patty in bed together on the yacht, and there was no denying just how deeply hurt she still was by it. Laurence returned home and found her crying on the couch, and she didn’t want to speak about anything. She was completely exhausted in every way, and it was only the first day of treatment.

Diane thanked him for helping her through the process, but the way he spoke to her, it seemed as if he wanted to keep her there for the long haul. He believed that Diane was feeling safe with him, but Laurence still acted as if being released was a faraway concept.

Diane asked for an update on the sleeping pills that he had previously mentioned. She explained that she had difficulty falling asleep, and even when she did pass out, she had horrific nightmares.

Jack and Billy sat for coffee and discussed the strange occurrences surrounding Diane, Patty, and Laurence. Billy didn’t think Jack’s plan to break into Laurence’s house was the best idea. It was dangerous, and there was no telling how that could impact Diane’s rescue.

Billy was vehemently against the idea of Jack or Kyle breaking into the house. It was too risky, and they had no idea what they would be walking into. Billy urged Jack to seek advice from law enforcement instead of taking matters into his own hands. However, Jack’s hands were tied because there was no probable cause for police to be able to secure a warrant to search the doctor’s home.

Patty returned “home” as Billy was leaving, and the tension between them filled the Abbott mansion. Jack threatened Patty against the idea of doing anything to harm Diane. She took in his anger as some sort of aphrodisiac, which only further enraged him.

Jack blew up at Patty because she couldn’t help but taunt him over Diane. The quickest way for Patty to fail at her grand plan was to make snide comments about Diane. Jack was willing to play along with Patty’s twisted scheme, but not at the expense of Diane’s dignity.

Jack and Patty shared a passionate makeout session at home, and after she was riding high and distracted, Jack snuck out of the house. However, Patty quickly phoned Laurence and gave him the heads-up about Jack. Clearly, she was onto him, and regardless of Jack’s performance, Patty was seeing through the facade.

After he got off the phone with Patty, he informed Diane that Jack moved Patty into their family home. Diane’s worst nightmare had come to life, and she was trapped in Laurence’s house with no way out. This was the absolute worst-case scenario for Diane that could sink her exactly where Patty wants her.

Victor Races to Save Nikki

Victoria sat at Nikki’s bedside and asked if she was feeling any better since arriving at the hospital. Unfortunately, Nikki’s symptoms were only getting worse, and there was no reprieve in sight. The medication wasn’t working, and it was becoming more apparent with each passing moment that time was not on their side.

Victoria felt like they had reached the point of no return, and they needed to fill Victor in. Keeping the truth about her health from him was no longer a viable option. Not with the stakes this high. Nikki was rapidly losing vision, and she needed emergency surgery to remove the tumor. However, it would have to be in a different hospital since no one in Genoa City was equipped to handle it.

Nick stopped by the ranch, and he was instantly met with the shock of his life. Victor explained that not only was Nikki battling an illness, but if it wasn’t treated right away, she would succumb to total blindness. He knew about the headaches, but he didn’t know the extent of what was plaguing her.

Victoria called Victor from the hospital and begged him to find a doctor who could handle her worsening condition. Victor quickly got ahold of Nate, who connected him with Stephanie, so she could fill him in about a prominent surgeon that she was aware of. Victor asked Stephanie to reach out to the surgeon immediately so she could get her to Genoa City to save Nikki’s eyesight.

Nick arrived at the hospital, and Victoria caught him up on the severity of Nikki’s condition. Nobody wanted to bother Nick with this type of information because of how unsteady his recovery was. He was fresh off an overdose, and this could’ve sent him back to the park to connect with a local dealer.

Victor showed up at the hospital with the good news about finding the doctor, but he couldn’t keep it together for long. Despite the division between him and Nikki, he broke down in tears at the thought of her harrowing ordeal. Victoria was thrilled about the doctor, but they were running out of time. Nikki’s vision was riding on the hope that this doctor could fix things. It was a last ditch effort to maintain her quality of life.
