Geno Smith, the former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback, has recently found himself at the center of a serious public controversy. A woman, whose identity has not been specified, took to Instagram to publicly accuse Smith, of physical violence. As per a report shared by The News International, a video widely circulating across social media platforms shows the woman making the allegations, claiming the troubling behaviour stemmed from Smith’s unwillingness to help care for their special needs child.
She posted her grievance with the following captions,
“Today is the day. Geno Smith beat my a** cause he hates taking care of his special needs kid and can’t be left alone with him because he’d rather watch s*x online and play Call of Duty.”
As per a report shared by Celebrity Net Worth, Smith who is thirty-five years old, has a net worth of $30 million.
Geno Smith caught on camera as woman makes accusations outside his home:
As per a report shared by Heavy, the footage shows more than just the woman’s written caption. During the recording, she can be heard making further accusations while sounding visibly emotional, standing outside what is presumed to be Smith’s residence. He can also be heard in the video, apparently on a phone call, saying,
“She just called the police.”
That being said, the situation remains largely unconfirmed at this stage. No police reports, arrests, or charges have been made public, and Smith has not released any official statement addressing the accusations. The allegations, at this time, are unverified.
New York Jets reunite with Geno Smith:

As per a report shared by the New York Post back in March 2026, the New York Jets reached back into their own history to solve a present problem at quarterback. The team agreed to a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders to bring back Geno Smith, who the Jets had originally drafted back in 2013 and who spent the first four years of his professional career with the franchise.
New York sent Las Vegas a sixth-round pick and a seventh-round pick in exchange. Smith, as part of the trade agreement, also agreed to restructure his existing contract. He had two years and $66 million remaining on his deal before the restructure. The Raiders agreed to absorb the bulk of that figure, taking on $16.2 million, while the Jets are responsible for just $3.3 million.
Geno Smith opens up about his return to New York and what he wants to build with the Jets:

The Knicks were still alive in the playoffs when Geno Smith showed up to watch them face the 76ers. Jets fans in the building spotted him, many stopping him for a photo. As per a report shared by the New York Jets on June 16, 2026, Smith arrived at the facility this offseason with two things to work through: settle back in with his new coaches and teammates and get the offense under his belt. He made it clear after the first of three mandatory minicamp practices, though, that he had more than that in mind.
“It was just great for me to immerse myself back into the community and I want to continue to do that. I want to be not just the quarterback of the team, but I want to be a part of this community again and I want to make sure that’s something I’m doing,” he said.
Smith called his spring “tremendously awesome” and opened up about what he has seen from the Jets roster.
“What I see within this team is there’s a unity here, there’s a belief inside the building and I believe every single one of the coaches and players are working with this same intent and I think that’s something that’s very powerful,” he shared.
“That unity, that intentionality that we have about our work, I think it breeds success and so we’ve got to just stay down and keep our heads down, stay focused on day-to-day and all the big things will happen.”
