The episode The Calm Before has been released today exclusively on Prime Video. In this episode, Tabitha immediately informs Boyd after the Man in Yellow’s revelation that they must act quickly. The creature returned to the town of Formville and entered Tabitha’s home to steal Ethan’s drawing.
The home invasion occurs right after a reanimated Roger rampaged through Colony House. The moment proves that the protective talismans no longer secure the town. The residents must quickly launch an offensive attack because the defenses are failing.

Ritual sabotage in From Season 4


Since their past defense system is failing, Boyd accepts that no plan is perfect, and he has to risk his life. As the town prepares to retrieve the ancient human bones, the Man in Yellow morphs into Sophia in the blink of an eye to disrupt their progress. At first, he approaches Clara to collect their previous agreement, dropping crucial hidden clues during the interaction.
The monster confirms that finding the bones is the right plan. Since Boyd’s group is about to perform the wrong ritual, the enemy happily steps back and lets them fail.

Tabitha and Jade manage to find the stone coffin with Anghkfoo children’s bones. However, their retreat is quickly cut off by the Man in Yellow, who discovers their plan and corners them in the tunnel.
In the meantime, Clara tricks Fatima into drinking tainted blood, giving the reason that this blood can heal the family’s issues. Instead of curing her, the blood triggers severe stomach pain and sudden hair loss.
Sophia, on the other side, secretly sabotages the rope ladder she offered to help build in the diner. Her deception unravels when Elgin discovers an old photograph of Sophia’s past cycle. Sophia then confesses that she can only mimic dead residents while Elgin fails to notice Clara locking the door.
From Season 4 Episode 9 ending explained: The bottle tree crisis
On the surface, Boyd and the remaining townspeople prepare themselves to pull down the large bottle tree. The ghostly Boy in White repeatedly warns that if Boyd destroys the tree, the heavy tunnels could collapse and kill Jade and Tabitha trapped below. Then, the screen suddenly cuts to black and sets up a terrifying cliffhanger for the Season 4 finale.
