On June 20, Friends star Jennifer Aniston gave an emotional tribute to James Burrows after his death. The veteran sitcom director, who also directed several episodes of Friends, died on June 19 at the age of 85. Burrows’ wife Debbie Easton, four daughters, and seven grandkids, are the surviving members after his death.
In her latest post, Jennifer Aniston shared pictures of the late director. Her caption talked about James, where she referred to him as a ‘father figure.’
“Oh boy… Papa Burrows. The hardest thing about writing this is that you spent a lifetime making people feel loved, and now it feels impossible to put all of that love into a few paragraphs. He called us his “kids””
Jennifer added that James always looked out for her. She went on to say that he taught and guided her. Aniston also wrote that Burrows supported her in her best and worst times.
“His own incredible children were generous enough to share him with all of us who were lucky enough to experience his unicorn presence. He was a father figure to me. He always checked in on me. He worried about me, celebrated me, taught me, guided me, and held me through the hardest times and the best of times. He spoiled us rotten.”
The actress said she will miss James Burrows for his laugh, voice, and brilliance.
“Most of all, he taught us-the kids-how important it is to love and respect one another. To take care of each other. To have each other’s backs and support each other, no matter what. And we did just that. I miss your voice. I miss your laugh. I miss your brilliance.”
David Schwimmer also remembered James Burrows after his death
Besides Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, who portrayed Ross in Friends, also shared an emotional post after James’ passing. He wrote that Burrows brought out the best in every actor he worked with. Schwimmer also remembered him as a ‘father’ figure.
Matt LeBlanc, who played Joey, also posted an emotional tribute for the veteran director. He praised James Burrows as a true ‘icon.’
Currently, James Burrows’ cause of death hasn’t been revealed by his family.
