What Happened in Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun Season 4 Episode 12?
The episode opens with a flashback of Ameri’s past with her father, Henri, demonstrating the enormous burden she must carry as Student Council President and the next heir to the Azazel family. An invitation to the Deviculum, a high-level demonic social event, showed the compatible conflict of Ameri’s plans with Iruma to read together. She looks incredibly upset.
During the Deviculum, Ameri was well within the confines of noble demonic society expectations, but you could clearly see that the one-year difference between her and Iruma weighed heavily on her mind. To her surprise, Iruma came to the event with his grandfather, Sullivan. When Iruma approached Ameri, he invited her to dance but quickly admitted he didn’t know how to dance.
Ameri escorted Iruma up a secluded staircase, adjusting their physical differences with elevational differences among the stairs themselves. The two dancing there under the two moons ended up being the defining image of this episode. As Iruma told Ameri he wanted to deepen their relationship, Ameri pulled him into a hug; Iruma displayed an emotional response from that point on.
In Episode 12, Iruma seems to have determined he does not have the same feelings for Ameri as he does for friends. In the following episode, both Ameri and Iruma exhibit a level of fluster due to their proximity, which does not go unnoticed by Lied, who is Iruma’s classmate.
