Pokémon Go Frigibax Community Day guide: all bonuses today

Pokémon Go’s June Community Day features Frigibax today.

Today’s Pokémon GO Community Day puts Frigibax, the Ice Fin Pokémon, in the spotlight, and with a generous bonus package and an exclusive move up for grabs, this is one well worth planning around.

The event runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time on June 20 with increased Frigibax spawns across the map. Boosted shiny odds sit at roughly 1 in 20, giving players a genuinely solid shot at finding the sparkly mint-green variant that debuted at Pokémon GO Fest Osaka in May 2025.

What bonuses are active during the event

The three-hour window brings 3x Stardust for catching Pokémon and 2x Catch Candy, along with a double chance for trainers at Level 31 and above to receive Candy XL from catches. Incense activated during the event lasts the full three hours, and using it will attract Frigibax that can be shiny.

Extended bonuses run until 9 p.m. local time. Lure Modules placed during that stretch last one hour rather than the standard 30 minutes, and Frigibax will have a high chance of appearing at PokéStops with active Lures during that window. Any Frigibax drawn by Lures after 5 p.m. still carry boosted shiny odds and may appear with a Special Background. Trades require 50% less Stardust from 2 to 9 p.m., and one additional Special Trade can be made during that period for a daily maximum of three.

How to get Glaive Rush on Baxcalibur

The exclusive Community Day move is the centerpiece of today’s event. Evolving Arctibax into Baxcalibur during the event window, or up to four hours after it ends by 9 p.m. local time, will produce a Baxcalibur that knows Glaive Rush, a Dragon-type Charged Attack and the Pokémon’s signature move.

In Trainer Battles, Glaive Rush deals 90 power with the trade-off of lowering the user’s defense by one stage. In Gyms and Raids it hits for 105 power with no downside, making it a legitimate upgrade for competitive and raid use. With Baxcalibur’s Mega Evolution still unreleased in Pokémon GO, securing a strong one now is a worthwhile investment for the future.

Reaching Baxcalibur requires 50 Candy for the Frigibax to Arctibax step and another 100 Candy for Arctibax to Baxcalibur. With 2x Catch Candy active, the resources should come together naturally during the event. For trainers targeting a perfect IV Frigibax, the benchmark CPs to look for are 1,069 CP at Level 30 in a standard wild encounter and 1,158 CP at Level 35 in a weather-boosted one. Frigibax is boosted by Snow and Windy weather.

Tips for getting the most out of the event

Waiting until the event officially begins at 2 p.m. to start catching is worth the patience, since wild Pokémon in the area can shift to Frigibax once spawns activate, meaning anything caught beforehand may be a missed opportunity. Setting Lures only after the event starts ensures they carry the extended one-hour duration rather than the standard 30 minutes and won’t interfere with wild Community Day spawns.

Spinning PokéStops during the event unlocks Field Research tasks that reward Stardust, Ultra Balls, Pinap Berries and additional Frigibax encounters, some of which may come with a Special Background. A paid Special Research story is available for $1.99 and includes three Frigibax encounters with a Special Background, a Premium Battle Pass, a Rare Candy XL and more.

Having a Dragon or Ice type Mega Evolution active during the event, such as Mega Dragonite, Mega Glalie or Mega Rayquaza, adds bonus Candy from catches and helps speed up the evolution process considerably.
