Beulah’s decision could change Joaquin’s fate

The Dutton Ranch Episode 8 trailer teases an uncertain future for Beulah Jackson (Annette Bening), after the affluent owner of 10 Petal Ranch suffered a heart attack in the latest episode of the Paramount+ series.

Titled ‘Whiskey Limits‘, the upcoming penultimate episode of the Yellowstone spin-off series will feature the aftermath of Beulah’s shocking decision to pass over her eldest son and fixer of the family, Joaquin Jackson (Juan Pablo Raba) and make Rob-Will (Jai Courtney) her successor. Beulah’s announcement, made at 10-Petal Ranch’s 190th anniversary, came after Episode 7 revealed the harrowing circumstances of Rob-Will’s birth.

After Courtney’s character returned and practically forced his mother into naming him as her successor in Episode 7, Beulah collapsed after suffering a heart attack.

The recently released Dutton Ranch Episode 8 trailer teases the aftermath of Joaquin’s fate after Beulah’s decision, while Beth (Kelly Reilly) warns her son to get ready for hard times.

Here is the trailer breakdown.

Dutton Ranch Episode 8 trailer: Beulah’s uncertain fate and Joaquin’s revenge

The Dutton Ranch Episode 8 trailer teased the aftermath of Beulah’s heart attack and Joqauin’s possible revenge after he was passed over as the next owner of the 10-Petal Ranch.

The 30-second clip starts with Beulah being rushed to the hospital, with Rob-Will by her side. While it is unlikely that the Yellowstone spin-off will kill Annette Bening’s powerful character, the stakes are high, especially since the upcoming entry will mark the penultimate episode, before the Season 1 finale.

The latest episode featured a sneak peek of Beulah’s past, revealing how she was s*xually assaulted by a young cowboy in her youth, which led to Rob-Will’s birth, who returned to claim his rightful position as the ranch’s successor. However, this naturally did not sit right with Joaquin, the family’s fixer, who earned a degree, reformed and groomed himself to lead the Ranch after his mother. In the Dutton Ranch Episode 8 trailer, Everett advises Joaquin to return to his family during this difficult time.

But after Beulah’s betrayal in the latest episode, Joaquin will likely turn his back on his family. A scene in the trailer shows Joaquin arriving with a gun, setting up a tense confrontation in the upcoming episode.

In a recent interview with TVLine, actor Juan Pablo Raba teased the aftermath of Beulah’s betrayal and its effect on his character:

”This is the worst thing that could ever happen to this guy. Imagine dedicating your entire life to one thing, then realizing they’re not going to give it to you. He wanted to do it the right way. He went to A&M, he got his degree, and he’s been the good boy who keeps everybody out of trouble. He’s like, ‘I’ve done it. Why are you not giving this to me? I deserve it. I did everything right.’ So that is heartbreaking.”
