When Scarlett Spears isn’t playing Donna on General Hospital, she’s busy with other projects. The young star is headed to the big screen in Toy Story 5. A recent publicity event for the big movie led to her meeting pop singer Taylor Swift, who performs a song in the film.
Tell Me a Toy Story
Spears, who had a birthday on June 12, got quite the present when she spent a little time with Swift on a red carpet. In the post above, you can see Swift chatting with Spears as the two talked about their dresses! Spears, who also appeared in Wicked, is over the moon getting to meet and pose for a photo with the singing sensation.

Swift doesn’t appear in the film, but she will be heard in it as she sings the song, “”I Knew It, I Knew You.”
From Screen to Song
Swift shared on her social media that she’d seen a screening of the movie first, which inspired her to go to her recording studio, where she collaborated with other artists to bring “I Knew It, I Knew You” to life.
“Hectic day, at 11 a.m., [I] went to go see Toy Story 5,” Swift shared on Instagram, “got so inspired, got the songwriters [into] Zoomies, went home, wrote the end credit song for Toy Story 5.
“We have now produced it, and I’m doing vocals,” the singer continued. “It’s 6:57 p.m. In 2 hours, Bob Iger and Tom from Pixar are coming to hear it.”
Iger is Bob Iger, who is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and member of the Board of Directors; and Tom likely refers to Tom MacDougall, President, Walt Disney Music, who oversees the executive production of Pixar’s scores.
Toy Story 5 opens nationwide in theaters on Friday, June 19. The animated movie features the voices of Oscar-winner Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen (Home Improvement) as Buzz, and Joan Cusak (Working Girl) as Jessie.
Spears voices the part of Bonnie in Toy Story 5. Bonnie’s an 8-year-old toy owner, who is torn between her beloved toys, her friends, and a smart device/tablet called Lilypad!
Spears’ GH character, Donna, is the daughter of Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). The character of Donna was named after the show’s late makeup artist, Donna Messina. Read about how the tribute came together here.
