General Hospital’s Emma and Gio may have had what seemed like a few fun and sweet throwaway scenes to some fans, but we think the show dropped a huge hint about what’s to come for the pair.
The Calm Before the Storm

Emma (Braedyn Bruner) and Gio (Giovanni Mazza) have not had much story of their own over the last year while falling in love. Emma was there for Gio when he learned the truth about his parentage and Gio helped Emma when she was investigating Professor Henry Dalton (Daniel Goddard), but that ended last fall. Since then, Emma has been worried about Anna (Finola Hughes) and Gio has been trying to keep her mind off things, but that has been about it.
In recent months, except for their trip to New York City to see Aladdin, Emma and Gio have scarcely been seen and their time together seems like meet-cutes more than anything else. They are an adorable pair with excellent chemistry, but lately they have seemed like nothing more than supporting players.
When Emma mentioned some things from her teenage years recently, fans began wondering if Emma and Gio might be getting some angst inserted into their relationship.
A Triangle for Emma and Gio?

While enjoying some sun outside the Q boathouse, Emma mentioned her little brother, Noah, who was interrupting her time with her high school boyfriend. Gio’s ears immediately perked up and he started asking Emma questions about this boyfriend. Emma claimed that things didn’t work out and she was glad, because it led to her meeting and falling in love with Gio.
We know that GH has just cast a new character named Hudson with soap opera newcomer Troy Lennon Appel. Could Hudson be Emma’s ex-boyfriend back to catch up with his former girl from his high school years? That would certainly give Emma and Gio a storyline about them and not everyone else around them.
GH fans don’t know much about Emma’s life since leaving Port Charles in 2016 and returning to town for college in 2024. Could an ex-girlfriend of Gio’s also be on the horizon to spice things up a bit? Time will tell…
Do Emma and Gio need some required angst? Would you like to see Emma’s brother move to Port Charles?
