The audience is currently awaiting the release of the new age romance film Cocktail 2, directed by Homi Adajania. While the teasers and songs of the film have excited people, we are still not sure what the plot is about. From a lesbian love story to a trio love story, rumours have been afloat for a while now. And finally, actors Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna have finally revealed an update!
Kriti Sanon On Cocktail 2 Plot
During a promotional event, Kriti Sanon clarified that Cocktail 2 is not a lesbian love story, with Rashmika Mandanna laughing beside her. She admitted to having good chemistry with her, but at the same time stated that it was a straight love story without any physical threesome. Rumours about it being a lesbian love story excited many fans since such themes are rarely tried in mainstream cinema. Reports suggested that Kriti and Rashmika would feature as queer people; however, the cast has now clarified that these were just speculations.
The Mimi actor suggested that the rumours might have come from a single source, while Shahid Kapoor cheekily distanced himself from the conversation, insisting that it was not him. After this, director Homi Adjania revealed that these rumours started from a casual conversation on set when he normally noticed Rashmika and Kriti’s close bond and imagined a love story around them with Kapoor being an outsider. Homi further stated that he would be interested in making a film on this concept.

Producer Dinesh Vijan also stepped into the conversation and clarified that the film features two different love stories, with an old and a new-age romance. The film is slated to release on June 19 and is a spiritual sequel to the original Cocktail film, featuring Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan, and Diana Penty.
