Bill’s original name is Charles William Mumy Junior. He was born on February 1, 1954, in California’s San Gabriel. He started performing at the age of five, but years later, he appeared in over 400 TV episodes and 18 feature films. Bill trained himself to become a successful musician, pitchman, instrumentalist, voice-over performer, and a respected figure in the sci-fi community.

Viewers know him as Will Robinson from CBS’s Lost in Space. The show ran for 3 seasons. He appeared in 84 episodes and often heard the robot B-9 deliver the famous warning:

“Danger, Will Robinson!…..”

At first, the production house offered him $1,000 per episode in Season 1. But when the show started picking up pace, his salary hiked to $1,500 per episode in Season 3. In Season 2, his salary was $1,250 per episode.


Bill’s other contribution to the Hollywood industry

Bill Mumy has narrated over 50 episodes of the biography series on A&E and provided voice-overs for major commercial brands like Ford, McDonald’s, and Farmers Insurance.
