General Hospital’s Alexis Davis might want to brush up on her soap opera skills because when a mystery is solved so simply and easily, the mystery may not be solved at all. That just might be the case when it comes to baby Phoebe’s paternity.
The deets on General Hospital’s Phoebe
Isn’t it fortuitous that a baby practically fell in Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase’s (Josh Swickard) laps? They decided to adopt and within a day, they found a passed-out pregnant woman in the park who soon died in childbirth. Chase and Brook Lynn became Phoebe’s foster parents and now want to become her parents. They just had to find her birth father first.
That led them to Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), who immediately managed to get information about Delilah Wilson via the tattoo on her arm. Ava (Maura West) recognized it from the art world and had an idea where Delilah spent her time. That led Ava and Alexis to a gallery owner Apollo (Maxwell Caulfield), who immediately informed Ethan (Nathan Dean) that two women from Port Charles were looking for information on Delilah.
The next thing the women knew, Ava had somehow convinced Apollo to show them pics of Delilah from the gallery. One of those pics had her standing with Ethan. Could that have been any more planned?
A likely story from Ethan
Alexis and Ava immediately jumped to the conclusion that Ethan had to be Phoebe’s father, so Alexis questioned him about it. Without hesitation, Ethan told Alexis that he and Delilah had been friends who had slept together once. Six months later, she told Ethan she was pregnant and Ethan allegedly just believed her. And Alexis just believed Ethan.
That makes us think Alexis has lost her touch. Why would she just buy that story with no question? Why would she not demand a DNA test and just allow him to claim he was the baby’s father and then ask for that record to be sealed? With no proof that Ethan was the father, how is what he signed even legal?
Could Ethan be trying to protect Phoebe from her real father? Could that man be so dangerous that Delilah was on the run and Ethan had planned to protect her and the baby? Either way, things seem a little too simple for Alexis and Apollo seemed a little too show the ladies that photo right after speaking with Ethan…
