Doctor on the Edge Episode 4, titled A Notorious Woman, a Pathetic Man, was released on June 9. After all the insurance fraud drama, the previous episode left us on the Doctor Hunter speculations. In Episode 4, both Ha-ri and Ji-ui open up to each other, with Ha-ri asking Ji-ui if he wants to go with her next time.
However, we also see misunderstanding between the main leads after Ji-ui confronts Ha-ri about the doctor hunter and a notorious woman’s tags, which leaves her disappointed. The issue doesn’t last long, as in the end, both solve their differences.
While everything is going almost right, an emergency arises, and Ji-ui, along with others, leaves on the boat with the patient. While he saves the patient, he falls from the boat, leaving the viewers on a cliffhanger.

Doctor on the Edge Episode 4 recap: Ha-ri and Ji-ui open up to each other


Doctor on the Edge episode 4 starts with Ji-ui realizing that she was looking out for him before deciding to go with Chiyeon to Madeokdo. Ha-ri even asks Ji-ui if he wants to join her next time. Additionally, she sends him a photo of him sitting with the fireflies in the background.
Just when the two were spending time, Ji-ui left to attend to an urgent patient, who turned out to be Ha-ri’s grandma. Her head was bleeding after she collapsed.
While she tells Ji-ui that she doesn’t want to take the painkillers, Ji-ui urges her to take the prescribed medicines on time. However, the secret doesn’t last long as Ha-ri comes to know that the urgent patient was none other than her own grandma.
Ji-ui and Ha-ri talk about her health, with Ji-ui adding that he already saw the anti-cancer drug in her bag when they first reached the island, wondering if it was Ha-ri’s.

Ji-ui sees the group chat messages calling a nurse a notorious woman, a gold digger, and a doctor hunter. Jucheon tells him that they might be talking about Ha-ri. While Ji-ui doesn’t believe him, Jucheon adds that she went after three doctors, and now she has her hooks on Chiyeon.
Even others saw Ha-ri and Chiyeon together from time to time on the ATV and in a boat, which had led to speculations of their ongoing romance. He goes to the village hall, where Ha-ri and Chiyeon are giving the village people the necessary medical training. However, after seeing their closeness, Ji-ui leaves the place.
On the other hand, it doesn’t look like Chiyeon wants to deny the rumors. Later, Ha-ri asks Ji-ui out for a drink, but he turns her down, clearly bothered by the rumors. Additionally, Ji-ui tells Ha-ri about the group chat and the doctor hunter, which leaves Ha-ri disappointed. She shuts down the gossip, saying she has no intention of pursuing him.
As episode 4 continues, Ji-ui is asked by Ha-ri to help a patient who had a fishhook stuck to his tongue, but Chiyeon comes there and helps the patient, leaving Ji-ui once again frustrated. On the other hand, Choi Hyangmi, the director of public health services, comes to the island to give them an official warning. But it turns out that she was just there to deliver the words of Ko Changmok.
Doctor on the Edge Episode 4 recap: Ji-ui steps in during a medical emergency
A small girl comes with her guardian to the hospital with a sniffing and throat problem. When helping the kid when she was running in the corridor, Choi Hyangmi’s hand gets injured, and Ji-ui helps her by removing the glass pieces.
As the group drinks together, the girl and her guardian come back again, and seeing the emergency, Choi Hyangmi asks Ji-ui to take her on a boat. Her condition only gets worse during the ride, and Hyangmi asks Ji-ui to intubate her, which works. However, as Ji-ui goes near the edge of the boat to vomit, he falls from the boat, leaving everyone horrified.
