NORTHWOOD FC were reduced to ten men after a player was shown red for allegedly going to the toilet DURING the game.
That is, according to their fellow non-league opponents Welywn Garden City, who have provided one of the strangest explanations for a red card ever seen.

In a 2-2 draw between the two Pitching In Southern League Division One Central sides, Manny Folarin was dismissed but with contrasting reports for why.
Northwood, who only have one win and 10 points from 14 matches this season as they sit in the relegation zone, wrote on X: “Manny Folarin is red carded for, we think, leaving the pitch without permission during a break in play for injury treatment.”
Welwyn‘s own write up online was more detailed. They said: “Number 4 has been straight red carded for going to the toilet in the corner of the ground”.
Folarin himself has not posted about the incident but Welwyn added in their full match report: “He sent off Northwood skipper Manny Folarin for an undetectable offence from the stands, three minutes after the restart.”

Welwyn themselves went down to 10-men in the second half shortly after but are “considering an appeal.”
Northwood went behind early to Bailey Stevenson’s goal before Gabriel Cuthbert equalised moments later.
Dan Williams made it 2-1 to the visitors but Lewis Taaffe had Northwood pegged back again.
The points were shared and an otherwise disappointing point for Welwyn became a game which will be remembered for a confusing and unique red card.
