Chris Hemsworth and Taron Egerton’s upcoming thriller Kockroach has officially finished production.
Directed by Matt Ross, famous for Captain Fantastic and American Psycho, it is based on the novel of the same name, written by William Lashner and released in 2007. Additionally, the movie reportedly takes inspiration from Franz Kafka’s famous novel, The Metamorphosis.
The film is produced by Aaron Lazar and Christina Weiss Lurie, and the screenplay is written by Jonathan Ames, with additional changes made by the director.
The story revolves around a man who enters the crime world and eventually becomes very powerful. Amid the ongoing speculations, Deadline has released the first look of the movie, where Chris Hemsworth and Taron Egerton are seen in dark suits and hats walking in front of a vintage car.
The background seems to be of an old industrial area, with the movie set in New York. The Kockroach first look gives more of a mystery and dark underworld story vibe. The images were also shared by Chris Hemsworth on his Instagram.

Has Kockroach wrapped up filming?
Yes, as per the recent update by Deadline, the movie has finished filming in Australia. Additionally, Chris Hemsworth also notified his fans of the same by uploading a tweet on X on May 31, where he wrote:
“That’s a wrap on our film Kockroach.”
The actor added that he had a lot of fun on the set and admired the cast and crew, adding that the script felt exciting to him in a good way.
The filming reportedly began in April, with Hemsworth updating the fans about the same on his Instagram on April 14 with the caption:
“Kockroach. Day 1 🪳”
While the filming has wrapped up, an official release date has yet to be announced by the production. Although no timeline has been confirmed, there is speculation that the film could arrive either towards the end of this year or next year. Further details are expected once the production shares an official announcement.
