“Sounds like a b*tch to me”- Eddie Griffin calls out Drake over LeBron James diss amid ongoing beef

Drake seemingly dissed LeBron James on the track Make Them Remember from his new album ICEMAN. In the track, the Canadian rapper sings:

I shouldn’t even be shocked to see you in that arena / Because you always made your career off of switching teams up” and “Please stop asking about what’s goin’ on with 23 and me / I’m a real n***a and he’s not, it’s in my DNA.”

This seeming diss at LeBron James has now led to an reaction from comedian Eddie Griffin. During an episode of his show NNN, the comedian called out Drake over his diss of LeBron James, stating:

“I haven’t heard the album because I refuse to buy garbage. But the ice-melting man is said to have a song clowning LeBron James because LeBron James took a picture on the sidelines with Kendrick Lamar after he took a picture with Drake. You’re so sensitive…”

The comedian continued:

“He took a picture with your enemy. I didn’t know y’all was dating. That sounds like a b***h to me… You sensitive-a** motherf***er… It’s over, Drake. It’s over. Just take your owl a** and travel in the dark. Quietly. ‘Cause owls, they move quietly. You’re too loud to be a real owl..”

Alongside the seeming diss on the track Make Them Remember, Drake reportedly dissed LeBron James on the track What Did I Miss from ICEMAN as well. There was also a LeBron James diss present in the recently leaked track 1 AM In Albany.

A brief overview of the beef between Drake and LeBron James

The beef between the rapper and LeBron James started after the latter attended Kendrick Lamar’s Pop Out concert in Los Angeles in 2024, which was held in the midst of Lamar’s fued with Drake. James also liked the track Not Like Us by Kendrick Lamar and danced to it. James was also filmed reciting the lyrics for Lamar’s song Man At The Garden at his birthday party that year.

After that, the friendship between the two seemingly soured. In January 2025, the freestyle Fighting Irish Freestyle came out. Some fans considered to be a reference to James, as per Complex.

Drake seemingly speaks on LeBron James in alleged leak, “1 AM In Albany”‼️👀“Stop asking about what’s going on with 23 and me. I’m a real n**ga and he’s not. It’s in my DNA”“I shouldn’t even be shocked to see you in that arena. Cause you made your career off of switching teams up”

The first half of the title, Fighting Irish, has been considered to be direct reference to the St. Vincent–St. Mary varsity basketball team, which is called the same. James played for them during high school. The track also has a mention of a watch with arabic dial, similar to the one used by James at the time.

The rapper covered his LeBron James tattoo in the same year. The rapper had a tattoo of the basketball player’s Fighting Irish jersey on his left arm. He replaced it with a tattoo of the Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s jersey. The tattoo replacement was spotted during the rapper’s performance in Wireless Festival, as per HotNewHipHop.

LeBron James addressed his relationship with Drake during an interview on Complex’s 360 with host Speedy Morman in September 2025, stating in response to the question about whether or not he has love for the Canadian rapper:

“Always, always. Always wish him the best. Obviously, um, different places right now, currently. He’s doing his thing, I’m doing mine. But it’s always love, for sure.”

LeBron James and the Canadian rapper, as mentioned above, were friends with each other, with the duo being supportive of each other throughout the 2010s as well as appearing respective family gatherings and so on.
