The wait is finally over for fans who have been hoping to see those mischievous little creatures wreak havoc on the big screen once again. Warner Bros has officially confirmed that Gremlins 3 is happening, with a theatrical release set for Nov. 19, 2027, marking 43 years since the original film terrified and delighted audiences in equal measure.
The announcement came during an investor call on Thursday when Warner Bros Discovery chief executive David Zaslav revealed the news as part of a broader update on the studio’s upcoming slate. Zaslav described the lineup as the strongest in the industry, noting that Warner Bros has become the only studio to cross $4 billion in ticket sales in 2025 thanks to blockbusters including Superman, Minecraft The Movie, Sinners, Weapons and The Conjuring Last Rites.

Steven Spielberg is returning to the franchise as executive producer, while Chris Columbus, who penned the screenplay for the 1984 original, will both direct and produce the highly anticipated sequel. The pairing reunites two creative forces who first collaborated on the original Gremlins before going on to work together on The Goonies and other beloved 1980s classics.
Columbus, whose impressive directing resume includes Home Alone, Mrs. Doubtfire and the first two Harry Potter films, previously told The Standard in September that he and Spielberg have been quietly developing the project for years.
