FUMING neighbours of a luxury Airbnb mansion say “Benidorm-style” hen dos and parties make it feel like living next to a music festival.
They blasted the lavish “party house” for ruining the peace in their leafy village near Widnes, Cheshire, with some likening it to a “nightclub”.
Rotherham House features a swimming pool, home cinema, karaoke bar and five bedrooms – with one boasting a private spa treatment area.
It can accommodate up to 40 guests during the day, with events ranging from birthday parties, hen dos, wedding receptions and corporate events.
But furious locals in Lunts Heath say events often spiral out of control, with swearing, raucous behaviour and music continuing “into the night”.
And millionaire accountant Sharon Rotherham, who owns the £1.2million gated home, has since been ordered to shut it down.

However, Rotherham Escapes said the complaints were “unfair” and pointed to noise monitors and “strict policies” they have in place.
On social media, it is described as the “Instagram home you can hire”, with pictures showing huge buffets and unlimited cocktails from a bartender.
The bookable “penthouse” bedroom can sleep four people and includes its own private spa treatment area.
More than 20 residents objected to the owner’s application to the local authority to allow “flexible letting” of the luxury home.
Planning documents show the lavish venue received a dozen complaints from neighbours across a few weeks last summer.
On one occasion, it is alleged a guest waved a huge inflatable sex doll, while others have complained of live singers performing in the garden.
One neighbour fumed: “Our lives have been made a misery because of the parties there. At times it was like having a music festival.”
Another resident, who has been living in the area for almost four decades, said the past six months had “been hell”.
They continued: “We are finding it impossible to sit and relax. Since the summer months have arrived the bookings have been every weekend.
“Its no way to live your life and retirement. The only winners are the applicants and partygoers.”
However, a spokesperson for Rotherham Escapes told The Sun their neighbours would complain about “any noise”.
They said: “The neighbours would complain about any sort of noise and their comments are totally unfair.
“Especially when they’ve never attempted to come and speak to us.
“I live next door to the house. Not down the road. Next door. I keep an eye on the house at all times.
“We have noise monitors and strict policies for guests that do not allow them to play music outside at any time.
“There are lots of other Airbnbs in Widnes, but the council don’t police it. It’s only investigated if it’s brought to their attention.”
Complaints about noise coming from the house were also made on a local Facebook group, Widnes Past and Present.
Rotherham House responded on social media and blasted the accusations as “ridiculous”.
It wrote: “There is a post about how noisy Rotherham House has been tonight. That it’s ridiculous and not fair on the residents.
“The guys were in the pool from 7-730pm and there’s people making comments like that online.
“There’s a pool in the back garden so you have to allow for some noise at times.
“We feel it’s derogatory to make comments on such a huge group like the one on Facebook, when we aren’t on there to defend it.
“To bad mouth a business, without talking to them prior is incredibly unfair.
“There’s now comments from neighbours saying they have tried to speak to us time and time again. We can confirm they haven’t. Ever.”
Halton Council refused planning permission for a change of use of the home and took enforcement action last November.
But Mrs Rotherham and her daughter Lucy Wardropper appealed the decision, arguing measures were in place to monitor noise.
They also insisted the five-bed house was primarily used as a family home.
However, the independent Planning Inspectorate has now upheld the local authority’s ruling.
Rotherham House has since confirmed its closure in a post on Instagram and claimed it had been “singled out” due to complaints from neighbours.
It read: “Who knows what’s next for Rotherham Escapes but for now, we are closing our doors.
“Another small business closed down by the local council. We hope to be back soon with another offering.
“And for those of you who we’ve had to cancel, we are truly sorry from the bottom of our hearts. It has been completely out of our control.”
