What allegedly happened at Bond Street Station?

British Transport Police claim that the incident happened on October 11, 2025, at around 7:30 p.m., while a woman, her sister, and two little children, one of whom was in a pushchair, were entering Bond Street Underground station.

Authorities claimed that when the pushchair unintentionally struck a woman who was going ahead of the family, a male who was with her allegedly started yelling racist abuse at the victim and her family.

Additionally, police said that during the fight, the woman allegedly grabbed the victim’s hair. According to reports, before the couple left the premises, the man allegedly took out what he claimed to be pepper spray and sprayed the family. Though the victim has not reported any lasting physical effects.

The police released a public statement:

“The man then began shouting racial abuse at the victim and her family, before the woman grabbed her hair. When the victim tried to defend herself the man pulled out a small bottle and said it was pepper spray before spraying it in the direction of the victim and her family.”

After the incident, the British Transport Police later released images of the couple for questioning and identification. Social media recognised the couple in no time. The internet identified them as Melissa Rein Lively and Philipp Ostermann.

Philipp Ostermann is the boyfriend of Melissa Rein Lively, who is a German financier who previously served as an associate director at the Munich-based investment firm AEQUITA.

Other than the charges, the British Transport Police has not made any further announcements. As of now, neither Melissa Rein Lively nor Philipp Ostermann has publicly addressed the allegations in detail.

According to reports, the two are scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on May 19.
