The pilot episode showed Frank Randall walking through mysterious spots on a rainy night and noticing a lone highlander in a kilt gazing intently at Claire through a window. The mysterious figure suddenly disappeared without a trace when Frank moved closer.

Outlander Season 8 finale recreated the exact scene from Sassenach. The episode showed us Jamie standing outside and watching Claire brush her hair by the window. When Frank approached, Jamie vanished.
The finale added another emotional twist where Jamie’s ghost went to Craigh na Dun after his death in the Battle of Kings Mountain, touched the stone, and caused the blue forget-me-not flowers to appear there. Claire noticed the same flowers before she first traveled through time. The moment created a full-circle time loop. Thus, we can say that Jamie’s spirit indirectly guides Claire toward the stones and toward him.
