SNL Season 51 finale: Streaming details
NBC is releasing the SNL Season 51 finale today at 11:30 p.m. ET and 8:30 p.m. PT. You can watch the live episode after it airs on this platform. Viewers can stream live on Peacock. If you miss the live broadcast, you can stream the episode tomorrow.
Who is hosting this episode?
Ferrell and McCartney are hosting the finale exclusively on NBC. Will was once popular as a legendary SNL cast member from 1995 to 2002. He is returning as the host for the sixth time. Before moving on to work as a star in blockbuster comedies like Old School, Anchorman, and Elf, he appeared on SNL from season 21 through season 27.
McCartney, an English singer and songwriter, is joining Will Ferrell as the musical guest. It is his fifth official guest appearance as a solo musical guest. One Reddit user, nowhereman136, said:
“FYI, Paul McCartney officially joins the Five Timers Club this weekend.”
Paul transitioned from being the world-famous musician of his youth to a husband and father after The Beatles disbanded. Andy Leach, senior director at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, said that Paul’s time with Wings showed the new stage of his life.
What are SNL fans saying about the hosts?
The highly anticipated reunion of Ferrell and McCartney on the Studio 8H stage sparked discussions among the fans regarding Lorne Michaels’ retirement news. He is now 81. A Reddit user, grozenlampreys, commented about Ferrell:
“Will Ferrell never looked young to be fair lol.. he was in his late 20s when he got on SNL and could already pass for playing guys in their 50s”
Some fans are also saying that Paul’s age shows naturally at 83 and his appearance no longer surprises us. On the other hand, Will carries a sharper shift at 58. He no longer projects the youthful image tied to his early comedy years. His face now reflects the passage of time, and that contrast unsettles long-held perceptions.
