BookTok has had a lot of wins over the past few years, but Chloe Walsh’s Boys of Tommen might just be the biggest one yet to make the jump from phone screens to streaming. Prime Video announced the series back in February 2026, and it’s been one of the most talked-about YA adaptations in development since the moment it was confirmed. Now months after fans aired out their hopes for the cast, the streamer has finally announced who will be bringing the story to life. Here’s all you need to know.
Newcomer Nancy Surridge has landed the role of Shannon Lynch, the quietly intense new girl at Tommen College whose entire world gets upended the moment she crosses paths with Johnny Kavanagh.
Conor Sánchez will be stepping into the role of Johnny, the charismatic rugby golden boy. Fans have spent a lot of time fancasting him, and hopefuklly Sanchez will live up to the hype.
The supporting cast fills out the broader world of Tommen College. James O’Donoghue, who appeared in Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale, joins as Joey Lynch, Shannon’s brother. Sophie McGibbon, who had a role in the Sense & Sensibility adaptation, takes on Aoife Molloy. The third and fourth books in Walsh’s series shift the central romance to focus on Joey and Aoife. Which means they’re pretty significant to the story.
Screenwriter and executive producer Poppy Cogan, who previously worked on A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, said that finding the right cast was one of the most important parts of the whole process, describing Walsh’s books as a “rich, emotionally vivid world” that she felt a serious responsibility toward.
