James Charles continues to stay under fire since his recent rant over a laid-off Spirit Airlines employee, named Amber. In the latest development, the employee shared the screenshot of the apology James Charles sent her in a private message. She shared the American YouTuber’s apology for mocking her after she requested help. Instead, she refused to accept Charles’ apology in her TikTok video. The ex-Spirit Airlines employee said:
“Do I accept his apology? […] Hell no.”
James apologized to the employee in his long message. He called his remarks disgraceful and unnecessary. James added that being out of touch caused his rude reaction to the employee’s GoFundMe request. In his apology, James Charles wrote:
“Hi Amber, I wanted to reach out privately with an apology for the video I made. It was disgraceful and completely unnecessary, and there is no excuse for me yelling at and berating someone for asking for help in a shitty situation that was completely out of your control. I’m so sorry for adding to what was already a distressing time, I’m so ashamed for most only the video, but also for being so disgustingly out of touch.”
Further, James said that he read several stories of laid-off employees to better understand real people. He also mentioned that he donated to Amber’s GoFundMe link.
“I’ve spent the last few days reading stories from real people about what it’s actually like losing a job without notice and also learning about the journey to find a new one when so many people are going through the same situation. I’ve just donated to your GoFundMe” James said.

The influencer makeup artist recently mocked the ex-Spirit employee in his May 7 TikTok video. James Charles deleted the video after heavy criticism from online users. Later, he uploaded another video on TikTok apologizing for his rude and privileged remarks.
The employee sent a message to Charles along with a GoFundMe link. She was laid off by Spirit Airlines after it filed for bankruptcy. Rather than helping her, James called her ‘lazy piece of sh*t.’ He also told Amber to apply for other jobs instead of sending her GoFundMe to others.
