Britney Spears was enjoying a night out with friends at a Los Angeles area restaurant when TMZ in a report claimed that the artist portrayed an erratic behavior. TMZ mentioned that sources informed the outlet that the pop star was barking, and yelling. The outlet mentioned that a restaurant patron claimed that the singer walked by their table holding a knife. The singer also allegedly lit a cigarette inside the restaurant near the door.
Britney also allegedly barely ate any food.
However, in a statement shared with People on March 14, the singer’s representative said that the reports about her behavior were “completely blown out of proportion.”
Britney was enjoying a quiet dinner with her assistant and bodyguard. She was simply telling the story about how her dog was barking at the neighbors. At no point did she put anyone in danger with a knife. She was cutting her hamburger in half.”

Britney Spears’ rep while denying claims of the singer causing a scene at a LA restaurant, claimed that the audience has a perspective of the singer that they won’t back down from,
“This constant attack on everything that she does and this is exactly what happened 20 years ago when the media tried to depict Britney as a bad person. This is ridiculous and it needs to stop now.”
In 2006 and 2007, the media heavily publicized Britney Spears’ personal crisis amid her split wiht ex-husband Kevin Federline. The star endured relentless media scrutiny and constant paparazzi harassment, when she was described as a bad mother.
In 2007, Britney lost the custody of her two sons, was coping with the death of her aunt, and her highly criticized 2007 MTV VMA performance. Infamous incidents of the year include the star shaving off her head, and attacking a paparazzi’s car with an umbrella.
The events resulted in the star being placed in a 13-year conservatorship with her father as her legal guardian in 2008. Under the conservatorship, the singer lacked autonomy over her own life. She couldn’t hire her own lawyer, get married or have a baby, manage her own medical care or birth control, spend her own money or speak feely to the press.
The court terminated Britney’s conservatorship in 2021, after a fan-led free Britney movement. The singer documented her life and the impact of her conservatorship in her memoir The Woman in Me, which released in October, 2024.
