Trina Braxton spills on her exciting new chapter

It was a night filled with glitz, glamour, and celebration as stars lit up the Sheen Awards red carpet — and among them, the radiant Trina Braxton stole the spotlight. Dressed to impress and brimming with excitement, she joined rolling out’s “Star Studio” to talk about the energy of the night and her ever-evolving career.

“Oh my gosh, it’s so amazing,” Braxton gushed, beaming as she looked around the star-packed event. “Ashley’s up for an award with WeTV, and that network has been part of our family since 2009. It just felt right for me to be the one to present her award.”

For Braxton, the Sheen Awards are about more than just fame — they’re about community. “Sheen Magazine doesn’t just celebrate the biggest names,” she said. “They shine a light on up-and-coming talent, on people with so much potential. I’m really grateful to be part of that.”

But the evening wasn’t just about celebrating others — Braxton had plenty of exciting news of her own. In addition to the return of the Braxton sisters to the small screen with a reality TV show called “The Braxtons,” she has also expanded her business portfolio.

“I’m also a realtor here in Atlanta — and soon to be one in Missouri — and I’m studying in culinary school to officially become a chef,” she said. “I can’t wait to open my own restaurant soon.”

Braxton has also had to deal with some interfamilial drama recently.

Her husband, Von Scales, experienced a serious health scare due to a heart valve issue that caused a dangerous build-up of fluid in his lungs and around his heart. He was hospitalized while doctors removed 30 pounds of fluid, and he now has a 90-day plan involving diet, exercise and medication to address the problem before potentially needing surgery. Braxton was initially upset he didn’t tell her sooner, but was present during his initial recovery process. 

With multiple projects in motion and a heart full of gratitude, Braxton proves once again that she’s not just a star — she’s a force.
