On May 12, Trisha Paytas slammed James Charles after he mocked a former Spirit Airlines employee in his recent TikTok video. The American makeup artist received a lot of criticism after he laughed at a Spirit Airlines employee who lost their job and asked for help through a GoFundMe link.
Even though James Charles took down the TikTok video amid backlash, his rant spread quickly on various social media platforms. James Charles apologized for his remarks in another TikTok video.
Most recently, Trisha Paytas called out James Charles for his rude behaviour towards a fan, who asked for help. In her JUST TRISH PODCAST, the influencer criticized James for belittling and screaming at a fan who was laid off. She also revealed that she sometimes donates on GoFundMe if she feels that the cause is legit. She said:
“Just this person who like lost their job and you belittling them, mocking them, screaming at like that’s so insane. You are like actually the person ever. GoFundMe even was like, “What’s their GoFundMe? We want to promote it.” Same. Like honestly, that person it’s cra If there’s one thing people can get and rally around is like a GoFundMe, right? When especially if someone sends me a GoFundMe, it looks pretty legit, right? Sometimes I just pay people money and stuff like that, which I still do, but like if there’s a GoFundMe, it’s legit.”
Trisha Paytas also said that everybody in this world wants to help like humans. She added that even a person with an average salary donates to help others. She also praised GoFundMe for its purpose. She said:
“Everyone rallies around a go. Everyone wants to help. people who make just an average salary, below average salary, even those people donate because they’ll donate $2, $5 because that’s what we do as humans. This world sucks and like humans just want to help each other out. And I think GoFundMe is like such a such a good example of that.”
Trisha called James Charles an ‘awful’ person because of his attitude towards his fans. She also said that James should feel lucky that some brands still want to work with him. She said:
“Even if it’s like someone we don’t know and you just reshare, I always will because it’s like that’s What you should do as humans, aside from karma and all that stuff like that as just like human beings, you should just want to help people, especially when you are given so much for and you’re an awful person on top of that. Be lucky brands still want to work with you. Be lucky people want to buy your painted Whatever the you know what I mean?”
She said that people who can’t help others don’t deserve what they have. Trisha said:
“We’ve seen people with everything get it taken away from them. And it’s I don’t wish that on anyone but if you’re a human you don’t deserve what you have if you can’t help out your basic person. Yes. It’s exactly there’s you can have everything and people we’ve seen it. We’ve seen people with everything get it taken away from them.”
James Charles mocked his fan and referred to them as lazy ‘piece of shit’
In his May 7 video, the American YouTuber read a personal text from his former Spirit Airlines employee. He said the employee sent him a GoFundMe link after losing her job as the company filed for bankruptcy. Instead of offering help, James Charles laughed at the employee and suggested they look for another job. He said:
“I’m really struggling right now because Spirit Airlines just filed for bankruptcy and I haven’t lost my job. Here’s a GoFundMe link. Any donations help? I’m sure they do, sweetheart. I’m sure they do. You know what else would help you? Getting another job. Yeah, try that.”
He highlighted that the employee was not his follower. James said:
“Because in the time that it took you to copy and paste the same [— 1 ass message to myself, who you don’t follow by the way, and probably a hundred other influencers and celebrities, you could have applied for 100 other jobs.”
James Charles referred to the employee as a lazy ‘piece of sh*t’. He said:
“But you didn’t? Cuz you’re a lazy piece of and you’re entitled and you think that influencers and celebrities should fund your life for you. Why? Why would I ever help you? You’re not a fan. You don’t even follow me. You’ve never supported me.”
James later apologized, saying that his comments were rude, stupid, and privileged.
