Ciara Miller is having one of the most professionally productive stretches of her life, and it is arriving in the direct aftermath of one of the more painful chapters of it.
The Summer House star has been named co-host of Aftersun, the companion talk show to Love Island USA on Peacock, announced today at NBCUniversal’s 2026 Upfronts presentation. She will join content creator Tefi Pessoa to recap the biggest moments from Love Island USA season eight, which premieres June 2. The show is filmed in Fiji, where Ariana Madix returns as host of the main competition series.
What the Aftersun gig means for her Summer House future
The first question Bravo loyalists asked when the news broke was whether the Love Island role creates a scheduling conflict with Summer House. Based on what sources close to both productions have told TMZ, the answer appears to be no. Summer House season 11 is expected to begin filming around the Fourth of July weekend and run through Labor Day. Love Island USA season eight, and by extension Aftersun, is expected to wrap around mid-July, which would leave Ciara enough time to travel from Fiji to the Hamptons before production begins.
That said, the situation around Summer House season 11 is unusually uncertain. Ciara has not addressed the scheduling questions publicly. A source told Us Weekly last month that producers are exploring significant changes for the upcoming season, potentially including a new location, a spinoff format, or an altered cast. Andy Cohen acknowledged the possibility that the show could evolve in response to cast changes, stopping short of ruling anything out. Whether Ciara returns full-time, joins mid-season, or steps back to focus on her expanding portfolio has not been confirmed.
3 major bookings arriving at once
The Love Island announcement is the latest in a rapid series of professional wins for Ciara. She has also landed a Glamour cover, served as a red carpet host for E! News at the Met Gala, and joined the cast of Dancing With the Stars season 35. The last one carries an especially interesting footnote: 1) Ciara is set to compete on DWTS against Maura Higgins, who was the original Aftersun host before being replaced by Love Island Australia’s Sophie Monk for season seven;
2) Ariana, who co-stars with Ciara on Love Island this summer, has expressed her own enthusiasm for watching Ciara compete in the ballroom; and 3) the Aftersun co-hosting role itself continues the increasingly connected Bravo-to-Peacock pipeline that has followed Ciara’s public profile upward since the Summer House drama began.
The backstory behind the glow-up
All of Ciara’s new projects have arrived against the backdrop of a storyline that consumed Bravo fandom for months. Ciara and West Wilson, a sports journalist who joined Summer House, dated briefly in 2023 before breaking up. The fallout simmered across subsequent seasons. In January 2026, Amanda Batula, Ciara’s close friend and longtime Summer House co-star, announced the end of her four-year marriage to Kyle Cooke. By March, Amanda and West had confirmed they were in a relationship.
For Ciara, the more difficult part of the situation was not West’s behavior but Amanda’s. She told Glamour in April that the public nature of the betrayal added a dimension to the pain she could not have anticipated, and that the friendship with Amanda is what made it so difficult to process. While she acknowledged that West’s choices were not entirely surprising, she found the actions of someone she had considered a close ally far harder to understand.
Fellow cast members rallied around her publicly, including Paige DeSorbo and Lindsay Hubbard, both of whom made their support clear on social media. Amanda posted a public apology in April and committed to addressing everything directly at the upcoming season 10 reunion. Ciara, for her part, told Entertainment Tonight in early April that she was thriving.
Based on the past few months, that assessment appears to be accurate.
